Route 309 (West End Boulevard) Periodic Lane Closures Scheduled Through Fall 2020 for Signal Improvements in Bucks County

King of Prussia, PA – Route 309 (West Boulevard Boulevard) motorists will encounter periodic lane closures Mondays through Thursdays between Tollgate Road and Pumping Station Road in Richland Township and Quakertown Borough, Bucks County, on Monday, April 22, through fall of 2020, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for signal improvements, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today. The work is part of a project to install Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) systems at 17 intersections along Route 309 (West End Boulevard) and several adjacent roads in Richland Township and Quakertown Borough, Bucks County.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent and subject to change.

In addition to the signal improvements, ADA curb ramps and pedestrian signage will also be added at each intersection.

The entire project is expected to be completed in the fall of 2021.

Kuharchik Construction, Inc., of Exeter, PA is the general contractor on the $3,686,191 project which is financed with 100 percent federal funds.
