Route 3 (West Chester Pike) Lane Closure Scheduled Next Week for Safety Improvement Project in Haverford Township
King of Prussia, PA – A right lane closure is scheduled in both directions on Route 3 (West Chester Pike) between Glen Gary Drive and Country Club Lane in Haverford Township, Delaware County, on Monday, April 15, through Friday, April 19, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for traffic signal installation related to a project to improve traffic flow and safety at nine intersections along Route 3 (West Chester Pike) in Haverford Township, Delaware County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work zone because slowdowns will occur during construction. The contractor's schedule is weather dependent.
Under this safety improvement project, crews will install and implement adaptive technology onto existing mast arms and controller cabinets. The adaptive equipment will vary the signal times based on real-time traffic data, improving the efficiency of the signal operation.
Armour & Sons Electric, Inc., of Langhorne, PA, is the general contractor on the $908,075 project, which is financed with 100 percent federal funds. The entire project is scheduled to be completed in late 2020.
