U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) Lane Closures at Night Next Week for Viaduct Construction in Philadelphia

King of Prussia, PA – Northbound and southbound single lane closures will be in place at night next week on U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between the Wissahickon/Germantown Avenue and Broad Street (Route 611) interchanges in Philadelphia for placement of temporary construction barrier, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

Crews will work Monday, April 29, through Thursday, May 2, from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, and Friday, May 3, and Saturday, May 4, from 11:00 PM to 8:00 AM the following morning, to complete the set up a new traffic pattern for the first stage of PennDOT's four-year, $90 million project to rehabilitate the half-mile-long Wayne Junction Viaduct which carries U.S.1 (Roosevelt Expressway) over SEPTA tracks and the city's Nicetown section.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because slowdowns and backups will occur. All scheduled activities are dependent on the weather.

South State, Inc. of Bridgeton, N.J. is the general contractor on the project which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state funds. For more detailed information on the project, visit us1wav.com.
