PennDOT - District 6 News: I-76, University Avenue Lane Closures Scheduled Next Week for Bridge Inspections in Philadelphia and Montgomery Counties

I-76, University Avenue Lane Closures Scheduled Next Week for Bridge Inspections in Philadelphia and Montgomery Counties

​King of Prussia, PA – Lane closures are scheduled next week on University Avenue and Interstate 76 in Montgomery and Philadelphia counties for bridge inspections, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

  • Monday, April 29, and Tuesday, April 30, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane closures are scheduled on the ramp from University Avenue to I-76 West in Philadelphia; and
  • Tuesday, April 30, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled in both directions on I-76 between the Belmont Avenue/Green Lane and U.S. 1 South interchanges in Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County and Philadelphia.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least once every two years to ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.
