U.S. 202 North Restricted at Night Next Week and Weekend for Pavement Repair in Chester County

King of Prussia, PA –  Northbound lane closures will be in place at night next week and continuously next weekend on U.S. 202 between the Boot Road and Route 401 interchanges in East Whiteland and West Whiteland townships, Chester County, for concrete pavement repair, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The northbound left lane will be closed Monday, April 29, through Thursday, May 2, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM, reducing northbound U.S. 202 to one lane between the Boot Road and the U.S. 30/Exton Bypass interchanges, and two-through lanes between the U.S. 30/Exton Bypass and Route 401 interchanges.

The same northbound left lane restrictions on U.S. 202 will be in place continuously from 8:00 PM Friday, May 3, to 2:00 PM Sunday, May 5.

Motorists are advised that backups may occur at times approaching the work zone. The schedule is weather dependent.

The pavement repairs are being done as part of PennDOT's $26.4 million project to rehabilitate the northbound and southbound U.S. 202 bridges over Amtrak and the U.S. 30/Exton Bypass ramp and replace the concrete pavement on the ramps to and from U.S. 202 and U.S. 30/Exton Bypass.

Work is currently in the final stage of rehabilitation and re-decking on the outside half of the southbound bridge. The inside half of the bridge, as well as replacement of ramp pavement, was completed in 2018. Repairs to the northbound bridge were completed in late 2017. The entire project is expected to finish this fall.

Allan A Myers, Inc. of Worcester, Montgomery County, is the general contractor on the project, which is financed with 100 percent federal funds. For more information, visit www.us202-300.com.
