I-76 East Lane Closure Scheduled for Overhead Bridge Repairs in West Conshohocken Borough

King of Prussia, PA – The right lane is scheduled to close on eastbound Interstate 76 between the Interstate 476 and Belmont Avenue interchanges in West Conshohocken Borough, Montgomery County, on Sunday, August 26, through Thursday, August 30, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM, for substructure repairs to the bridge carrying Spring Garden Street over I-76, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

Motorists traveling on I-76 are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work zone because slowdowns will occur. The work schedule is weather dependent.

Built in 1951, the one-span, steel-frame bridge is 87 feet long and 29 feet wide. The structure carries an average of 490 vehicles a day.

Work on the Spring Garden Street Bridge over I-76 is part of PennDOT's $5,505,505 project to rehabilitate 10 structurally deficient bridges in Bucks, Chester and Montgomery counties.

Loftus Construction, Inc. of Cinnaminson, N.J., is the general contractor on the project which is financed with 100 percent state funds through Act 89, Pennsylvania's transportation plan.
