Philadelphia Water Department to Close Westbound Market Street (Route 3) for Utility Improvement

King of Prussia, PA – The Philadelphia Water Department is planning to close westbound Market Street (Route 3) between Millick Street and 62nd Street in Philadelphia beginning Monday, April 15, for water main improvement, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today. Weather permitting, the closure will be in place Mondays through Fridays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM through mid-July.

During this operation, westbound Market Street (Route 3) motorists will be directed to use 60th Street, Race Street and 62nd Street. Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone. 

The Philadelphia Water Department will complete this project under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.
