I-76 East Overnight Lane Closure Next Week for ITS Installations in Montgomery County

King of Prussia, PA – Eastbound Interstate 76 motorists will encounter a left lane closure between U.S. 202 to Croton Road in Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County, on Monday, September 23, and Tuesday, September 24, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM for installation of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) components, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

Periodic daytime shoulder closures on eastbound and westbound I-76 also remain in place on Mondays through Saturdays between the Pennsylvania Turnpike and Montgomery Drive.

Motorists are advised to allow more time for travel in the work areas because backups and slowdowns will occur. The contractor's schedule is weather dependent and subject to change.

This work is part of the first phase of a long-range, comprehensive, multimodal transportation management plan designed to enhance travel and safety along the Interstate 76 (Schuylkill Expressway) corridor between King of Prussia and Philadelphia. The project is expected to be completed this fall. For additional details, visit www.transform76.com.
