King of Prussia, PA – Eastbound U.S. 422 will be reduced to a single lane between Airport Road and Township Line Road from 10:00 AM Friday, October 4, to 5:00 AM Monday, October 7, for bridge construction under a project to improve a five-mile section of the expressway between the Royersford/Trappe and Sanatoga interchanges in Limerick and Lower Pottsgrove townships, Montgomery County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

In addition to the weekend lane closure, travel restrictions will be in place on Lewis Road and Evergreen Road for bridge painting and construction. The work schedule is:

  • Sunday, September 29, through Saturday, October 5, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM, the right lane is scheduled to close on Lewis Road between Linfield Road and Linfield Trappe Road for bridge painting;
  • Monday, September 30, through late October, the left turn lanes on Evergreen Road will be closed to traffic between Lightcap Road and Rupert Road for bridge construction; and
  • Wednesday, October 2, and Thursday, October 3, from 7:00 PM to 12:00 AM, the left lane will close on Evergreen Road between Lightcap Road and Rupert Road for bridge construction.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through all the work areas because significant backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
