PennDOT - District 6 News: PECO to Restrict Several State Highways for Utility Improvements in Philadelphia and Chester Counties

PECO to Restrict Several State Highways for Utility Improvements in Philadelphia and Chester Counties

King of Prussia, PA – PECO Energy is planning lane closures next week on several state highways in Philadelphia and Chester County for utility construction, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

  • Thursday, September 26, and Friday, September 27, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, a lane closure is scheduled on Chestnut Street between 16th Street and 17th Street in Philadelphia;
  • Monday September 30, through Friday, October 4, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Route 41 (Gap Newport Pike) between Newark Road and New Garden Road in New Garden Township, Chester County;
  • Tuesday, October 1, through Friday, October 11, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a weekday right lane closure with flagging is scheduled on northbound U.S. 202 (Wilmington Pike) between Pleasant Grove Road and Skiles Boulevard in Westtown Township, Chester County; and
  • Wednesday, October 9, through Friday, October 11, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) between Orchard Avenue and Pennock Avenue in East Marlborough Township, Chester County.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

PECO Energy will complete these projects under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.
