Philadelphia Gas Works to Restrict Several State Highways Including I-95, U.S. 1 for Pipe Inspection in Philadelphia and Bucks Counties

King of Prussia, PA – Philadelphia Gas Works is planning moving lane closures overnights on several state highways in Philadelphia and Bucks counties, including Interstate 95 and U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard), on Tuesday, September 17 and Wednesday, September 18, from 10:00 PM to 4:00 AM the following morning, for pipe inspection, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work locations are:

  • Northbound and southbound I-95 between the Route 63 (Woodhaven Road) and Bleigh Avenue interchanges in Philadelphia and Bensalem Township, Bucks County;
  • Northbound and southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) between St. Vincent Street and Bleigh Avenue in Philadelphia;
  • Northbound and southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard Expressway) between Ridge Avenue and Wissahickon Avenue interchanges in Philadelphia; and
  • Route 63 (Woodhaven Road) between Academy Road and U.S. 13 (Frankford Avenue) in Philadelphia and Bensalem Township, Bucks County.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
