U.S. 422, Lewis Road Lane Closures Next Week for Construction in Limerick and Lower Pottsgrove Townships

King of Prussia, PA – Lane closures are scheduled next week on eastbound and westbound U.S. 422 and Lewis Road for bridge construction under a project to rehabilitate and improve a five-mile section of U.S. 422 between the Royersford/Trappe and Sanatoga interchanges in Limerick and Lower Pottsgrove townships, Montgomery County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

Weather permitting, the work schedule is:

  • Monday, September 23, through Thursday, September 26, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM, the left lane is scheduled to close on Lewis Road between Linfield Road and Linfield Trappe Road for bridge painting;
  • Tuesday, September 24, from 4:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the right lane and shoulder will close on westbound U.S. 422 between Township Line Road and Evergreen Road for bridge repair;
  • Tuesday, September 24, through Friday, September 27, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, the left lane and shoulder are scheduled to close on eastbound U.S. 422 between Park Road and Township Line Road for overlay and bridge repair;
  • Wednesday, September 25, from 4:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the left lane and shoulder will close on westbound U.S. 422 between Township Line Road and Evergreen Road for bridge repair;
  • Wednesday, September 25, and Thursday, September 26, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, the right lane and shoulder are scheduled to close on eastbound U.S. 422 between Park Road and Township Line Road for overlay and bridge repair; and
  • Friday, September 27, and Saturday, September 28, from 9:00 Am to 11:00 PM, the right lane is scheduled to close on Lewis Road between Linfield Road and Linfield Trappe Road for bridge painting.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur.

H & K Group Inc. of Skippack, Montgomery County is the general contractor on the $18,357,718 project which is financed with 100 percent federal funds. The entire project is expected to be completed in summer 2021.
