PennDOT - District 6 News: SEPTA to Close U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) for Two Weekends for Bridge Construction in Middletown Township and Chester Heights Borough

SEPTA to Close U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) for Two Weekends for Bridge Construction in Middletown Township and Chester Heights Borough

King of Prussia, PA – SEPTA is planning two weekend closures on U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) between Red Roof Drive and Valley Road in Middletown Township and Chester Heights Borough, Delaware County, for bridge construction, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

  • From 8:00 PM Friday, September 27 to 5:00 AM Monday, September 30; and
  • From 8:00 PM Friday, October 4 to 5:00 AM Monday, October 7.

During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Route 452 (Pennell Road), Bethel Road and U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway).

Local access will be maintained up to the work zone. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work areas because backups and delays will occur. The schedule is weather dependent and subject to change.
