PennDOT to Host Open House for U.S. 322 Bridge, Intersection Improvement Project in Upper Chichester Township
King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will hold an open house public plans display on Tuesday, October 1, from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Upper Chichester Community Center at 1950 Market Street in Boothwyn, to inform citizens about the upcoming project to improve the U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway) bridge over CSX and the adjacent Bethel Road Interchange in Upper Chichester Township, Delaware County.
The purpose of the open house is to present preliminary design plans and detour route information on the project. The meeting will be conducted as an open-house plans display where citizens will have the opportunity to circulate among the subject displays to gather information and discuss the different facets of the project with PennDOT's design team.
This bridge and interchange improvement project will be constructed as the second of three phases of the U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway) Corridor Improvement Program, which is currently under construction. PennDOT is improving travel and enhancing safety on U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway) from U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) to just east of Route 452 (Market Street) in Concord, Bethel and Upper Chichester townships, by widening nearly seven miles of the highway from two lanes-to-four lanes and improving the existing four-lane section through the Route 452 (Market Street) intersection. Fifteen intersections and two interchanges along the project corridor also are being improved.
An associated project to reconstruct and improve the I-95/U.S. 322 Interchange is currently in the early stage of preliminary engineering. More information on the U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway) Improvement Program is available at us322conchester.com.
