High Wind Warning

This is an important message from ReadyPhiladelphia. High Wind Warning in effect from midnight tonight until noon Sunday. Damaging gusts up to 60 mph are expected. Power outages are possible. The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a High Wind Warning, which is in effect from midnight tonight to noon Sunday. The High Wind Watch is no longer in effect. Winds: West to Northwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph. Timing: A rapid increase in the winds is expected overnight and continuing Sunday, with the strongest winds occurring Sunday morning. The winds are then expected to diminish quickly late Sunday afternoon and especially Sunday evening. Impacts: Downed trees and power lines, potentially resulting in power outages. Some damage is possible to building structures. Difficult driving conditions especially for high profile vehicles on north-south roads due to cross winds, and also on bridges and other elevated roadways. Precautionary & Preparedness Actions: A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage. Secure or store away any items that could be blown around by the strong winds.
