I-95 Night Lane and Ramp Restrictions Next Week in Philadelphia

I-95 Night Lane and Ramp Restrictions Next Week in Philadelphia

4/1/2016-KING OF PRUSSIA

Travel restrictions are scheduled on Interstate 95 next week for
construction
at the Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue, Cottman Avenue (Route 73), and
Girard
Avenue interchanges in Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania Department of
Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The operations are associated with construction contracts underway to
improve
the ramp system at the Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue Interchange, and
to
rebuild the Cottman Avenue (Route 73) and Girard Avenue interchanges and
reconstruct and widen more than three miles of I-95 adjoining the
interchanges.

The work schedule is:

• On Monday, April 4, through Thursday, April 7, I-95 north will be reduced

from three lanes to two at the Girard Avenue Interchange from 10:00 PM to
5:00
AM the following morning for installation of protective fencing;

• On Monday, April 4, through Saturday, April 9, lane restrictions on
Cottman
Avenue (Route 73) at the base of the off-ramp from I-95 north for the
installation of a traffic signal mast arm may result in backups on the ramp
and
on northbound I-95 approaching the off-ramp from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM; and

• From 9:00 PM Friday, April 8, to 5:00 AM Saturday, April 9, traffic on
the
ramp from I-95 south to the Betsy Ross Bridge will encounter periodic
stoppages
of up to 15 minutes for the setting overhead ramp beams;

In addition to restrictions on I-95, travel on surface streets at the
Girard
Avenue interchange will be restricted next week for demolition of the
northbound viaduct between Palmer and Ann streets. The work schedule is:

• On Monday, April 4, through Friday, April 8, intermittent stoppages of up
to
15 minutes may occur on Girard Avenue between Berks Street and Richmond
Street
from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM for overhead demolition; and

• On Monday, April 4, through Friday, April 8, southbound Delaware Avenue
will
be reduced to a single lane between Aramingo Avenue and Berks Street from
7:00
AM to 3:00 PM for utility work and road construction.

All scheduled activities are weather dependent. Motorists should expect
slow
moving traffic and delays entering the work zones.
