I-76 West Ramp to 30th Street to Reopen Saturday Morning for SEPTA Rail Work
King of Prussia, PA – PennDOT will reopen the westbound Interstate 76 ramp to 30th Street in Philadelphia at 5:00 AM Saturday, August 4, for approximately two weeks to accommodate SEPTA shuttle buses that will be in service for construction on the rail line between 30th Street Station and the Arsenal Interlocking, near University City Station.
PennDOT temporarily closed the ramp on Saturday, July 21, to complete repair and resurfacing. The ramp work is part of a $103.6 million project to rehabilitate the Chestnut Street bridge over the Schuylkill River and seven other nearby structures.
The ramp is scheduled to close again at approximately 8:00 AM Monday, August 20, to allow crews to complete the planned improvements. The ramp is expected to reopen permanently on Friday, September 14.
SEPTA is running shuttle buses that will use the westbound I-76 ramp to 30th Street Station from Saturday, August 4 through Sunday, August 19, during its Southwest Connection Improvement Program to rebuild the mainline infrastructure on its Media/Elwyn Line.
