NWS Weather Briefing

Emergency Management Partners and Stakeholders:

Attached is the first weather briefing from the US National Weather Service in Mount Holly, NJ regarding winter weather forecasted for Thursday night into Friday morning.

Key Updates: The snow accumulation has been refined to about 3 inches for Chester County. The timing of the storm has move up slightly with the precipitation ending closer to daybreak Friday morning. 


Chester County Forecasted Conditions:
• Anticipated Timing: Thursday night, 01/05/2017 into Friday very early morning 01/06/2017.
• Overnight temperatures into the mid 20's
• Precipitation: Chester County could receive up to 3 inches of snow
• Active watches & warnings: Chester County is currently under a Winter Weather Advisory.

Impacts:
• Snow will make the Friday morning commute hazardous

Recommended Preparedness Actions:
• Follow the NWS and local weather forecasts throughout the weekend for the latest changes, updates, and information.
