The National Weather Service, Mt Holly has issued a forecast for the upcoming Winter Weather Event.  Tuesday, January 31st: Currently NOAA is forecasting less than 1" of accumulating of snow across

Chester County. Attached are forecast maps:

  • ·         The top graphic shows the most likely snowfall amount.
  • ·         The lower left: least amount possible.
  • ·         The lower right: worst case highest and scenario.

Timing:

  • ·         Per the NWS, very light snow will start falling during the morning commute and continue until mid-afternoon.

Impacts:

  • ·         The snow may be moderate at times with visibility of one half mile.
  • ·         Low temperatures and snow covered roads can make for slick travel conditions.
  • ·         The timing of the snow may cause for longer morning commute times.

Recommended Preparedness Actions:

  • ·         Be sure to give yourself added commute time.
  • ·         Be sure to allow for added braking times, and overall slower travel speeds on the roads due to the conditions.
  • ·         Follow the NWS and local weather forecasts for the latest changes, updates, and information.

An advisory has not been issued since this is considered to be a relatively routine low end event, with more easily manageable impact.

The next NWS weather briefing is anticipated early Tuesday morning.
