Broad Street North (Route 611) Restricted Next Week for Safety Improvement in Philadelphia

King of Prussia, PA – Motorists will encounter a left lane closure on northbound Broad Street (Route 611) between the Interstate 95 Interchange and North Access Road in Philadelphia on Monday, February 28, through Thursday, March 3, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for delineator installation under a project to install safety enhancements to improve travel and reduce high-speed crashes across the five-county Philadelphia region, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Kuharchik Construction, INC. of Exeter, is the general contractor on this $5,996,57 project, which is financed with 100 percent federal funds. Work on the entire project is expected to be completed in spring 2023.

I-95 Among State Highways Restricted Next Week for Bridge Inspections in Philadelphia, Bucks Counties

King of Prussia PA – Interstate 95 is among several state highways restricted next week in Philadelphia and Bucks counties for bridge inspections, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedules and locations are:

• Monday, February 28, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, a left lane closure is scheduled on Allegheny Avenue between Richmond Street and Bath Street in Philadelphia;
• Monday, February 28, moving lane closures are scheduled in both directions on U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) inner lanes between Friendship Street and Strahle Street in Philadelphia;
• Tuesday, March 1, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on northbound I-95 at the Academy Road Interchange in Philadelphia;
• Tuesday, March 1, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, a left lane closure is scheduled on southbound I-95 at the Academy Road Interchange in Philadelphia;
• Wednesday, March 2, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on southbound I-95 at the Academy Road Interchange in Philadelphia;
• Wednesday, March 2, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on southbound I-95 between the Academy Road and Cottman Avenue interchanges in Philadelphia; and
• Wednesday, March 2, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, right lane closures are scheduled in both directions on I-95 between the Academy Road and Route 132 (Street Road) interchanges in Bensalem Township, Bucks County.

 Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least once every two years. The inspections ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.

King of Prussia, PA – PennDOT maintenance and contractor crews will be working on more than 70 state highways next week to repair deteriorated pavement across the Philadelphia region. The roadways include:

Bucks County

• U.S. 202, Buckingham and Solebury townships and Doylestown Borough;
• Route 113 (Souderton Road), Hilltown Township;
• Route 132 (Street Road), Upper Southampton, Lower Southampton, Bensalem, and Warminster townships;
• Route 152, Sellersville and Perkasie boroughs and West Rockhill and Hilltown townships;
• Route 213 (Bridgetown Pike), Lower Southampton and Middletown townships;
• Route 263 (York Road), Warminster, Warwick, and Buckingham townships and Doylestown Borough;

Crews will restrict travel lanes on these state highways to patch areas of deteriorating pavement. Motorists are advised to be alert of this moving operation and to expect intermittent lane closures and possible slowdowns when driving near work crews. All activities are weather dependent.

As of January 1, 2022, PennDOT has used more than 950 tons of asphalt to repair potholes across the five-county Philadelphia region.

PennDOT would also like to remind motorists that potholes and other roadway concerns on state roads can be reported by calling 1-800-FIX-ROAD or visiting www.penndot.pa.gov and clicking on "Submit A Roadway Concern." To date, District 6 has received over 2,100 customer concerns regarding potholes through PennDOT's Customer Care Center.

King of Prussia, PA – Cheyney Road is scheduled to close between Concord Road and Saint Johns Drive in Concord Township, Delaware County, on Tuesday, March 1, through Thursday, March 3, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, for pipe replacement, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

During the closure, Cheyney Road motorists will be directed to use U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike), as motorists will not have access to Cheyney Road via Concord Road. Local access will be maintained during the operation.

U.S. 422, N. Gulph Road Lane Closures Next Week for PA Turnpike Construction in Montgomery and Chester Counties

King of Prussia, PA – Single lane closures will be in place next week on U.S. 422 and N. Gulph Road in Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County and Tredyffrin Township, Chester County for overhead bridge deck demolition at two Pennsylvania Turnpike overpasses, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule and locations are:

• Monday, February 28, and Thursday, March 3, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, alternating single lane closures will be in place in both directions on U.S. 422 between the U.S. 202 and First Avenue interchanges;
• Tuesday, March 1, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, alternating single lane closures will be in place on westbound U.S. 422 between the U.S. 202 and First Avenue interchanges; and
• Wednesday, March 2, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, alternating single lane closures will be in place on westbound N. Gulph Road between Goddard Boulevard and First Avenue.
  

Motorists should use caution and be prepared for slow or stopped traffic approaching this area. All activities are weather permitting.

This work is related to construction currently underway by the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission to widen and improve the Turnpike and its bridges between milepost 324 and milepost 326.

I-95, I-476 Lane Closures Next Week for Construction in Delaware County

King of Prussia, PA – Motorists traveling Interstate 95 and southbound Interstate 476 in Delaware County will encounter single and double lane closures and a full ramp closure at night next week for various construction activities under a project to rehabilitate pavement and repair 15 structures on more than 11 miles of the interstate in Lower Chichester, Upper Chichester, Chester, Ridley and Tinicum townships, the City of Chester and Upland and Ridley Park boroughs, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule and locations are:

• Monday, February 28, through Friday, March 4, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and from 5:00 AM to 6:00 AM, a single lane closure will be in place in sections on northbound and southbound I-95 between the Route 452 (Market Street) and I-476 interchanges;
• Monday, February 28, through Friday, March 4, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a double lane closure will be in place in sections on northbound and southbound I-95 between the Route 452 (Market Street) and I-476 interchanges; and
• Monday, February 28, and Tuesday, March 1, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a single lane closure will be in place on southbound I-476 between the MacDade Boulevard (Exit 1) and I-95 interchanges.
  

In addition, the ramp from Chestnut Street to northbound Interstate 95 in the City of Chester will be closed and detoured on Monday, February 28, through Friday, March 4, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use U.S. 13 (Morton Avenue/Chester Pike) and turn right on Stewart Avenue to access the ramp to northbound I-95.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through or near the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under this project, PennDOT's contractor will mill, overlay and rehabilitate the existing concrete pavement including 41 ramps; perform minor structural repairs to 15 of the 33 bridges located in the project limits; repair sections of median barrier; upgrade guide rail; install new pavement markings, delineators and rumble strips; repair and clean existing inlets and pipes; and replace damaged or missing traffic signs. The Pennsylvania Welcome Center just north of the Delaware state line also will be improved with concrete base repairs and new parking stripes, pavement markings and signs.

Allan A. Myers, Inc. of Worcester, Montgomery County is the general contractor on the $68.4 million project, which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state funds. The entire project is expected to be completed in late 2023.

Plumstead Township to Close Stump Road Beginning March 9 for Construction

King of Prussia, PA – Plumstead Township is planning to close Stump Road between Cabin Run Road and German Road in Plumstead Township, Bucks County, beginning Wednesday, March 9, for roadway construction, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today. The closure will be in place weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM through Wednesday, March 16.

During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Route 611 (Easton Road), Curly Hill Road and Route 313 (Swamp Road). Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Plumstead Township will complete this project under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.

King of Prussia, PA – Periodic stoppages will occur on the northbound Interstate 95 ramp to the Betsy Ross Bridge in Philadelphia, on Tuesday, February 22, and Wednesday, February 23, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM for bridge deck construction, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

During the stoppages, crews will be lifting and setting deck beam for a section of the new ramp bridge over the Frankford Creek. The work is part of PennDOT's $93.6 million contract to replace four ramp structures at the Betsy Ross Bridge Interchange.

Motorists are advised to remain alert for traffic backups on the ramp during the planned stoppages and to allow extra time when traveling through the work area. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Kuharchik Construction, INC. of Exeter, is the general contractor on this $5,996,57 project, which is financed with 100 percent federal funds. Work on the entire project is expected to be completed in spring 2023.

King of Prussia, PA – PennDOT maintenance and contractor crews will be working on more than 65 state highways next week to repair deteriorated pavement across the Philadelphia region. The roadways include:

Crews will restrict travel lanes on these state highways to patch areas of deteriorating pavement. Motorists are advised to be alert of this moving operation and to expect intermittent lane closures and possible slowdowns when driving near work crews. All activities are weather dependent.

As of January 1, 2022, PennDOT has used more than 660 tons of asphalt to repair potholes across the five-county Philadelphia region.

PennDOT would also like to remind motorists that potholes and other roadway concerns on state roads can be reported by calling 1-800-FIX-ROAD or visiting www.penndot.gov and clicking on "Submit A Roadway Concern." To date, District 6 has received over 1,600 customer concerns regarding potholes through PennDOT's Customer Care Center.

I-95 Among State Highways Restricted Next Week for Bridge Inspections in Philadelphia

King of Prussia PA – Interstate 95 is among several state highways restricted next week in Philadelphia for bridge inspections, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedules and locations are:

• Monday, February 21, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane closures are scheduled in both directions on I-95 between the Cottman Avenue and Academy Road interchanges;
• Tuesday, February 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, alternating lane closures are scheduled on southbound I-95 at the Interstate 676 (Vine Street Expressway) Interchange;
• Tuesday, February 22, from 9:00 PM to 2:00 AM the following morning, a right lane closure is scheduled on westbound Interstate 76 between the South Street and I-676 (Vine Street Expressway) interchanges;
• Tuesday, February 22, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, a left lane closure is scheduled on Allegheny Avenue between Richmond Street and Bath Street; and
• Friday, February 25, moving lane closures are scheduled in both directions on U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) between Bridge Street and Large Street.

 Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least once every two years. The inspections ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.

King of Prussia, PA – Single lane closures will be in place next week on U.S. 422 and N. Gulph Road in Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County and Tredyffrin Township, Chester County for overhead bridge deck demolition at two Pennsylvania Turnpike overpasses, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule and locations are:

• Monday, February 21, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, alternating single lane closures will be in place on eastbound N. Gulph Road between Goddard Boulevard and First Avenue;
• Tuesday, February 22, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, alternating single lane closures will be in place on westbound U.S. 422 between the U.S. 202 and First Avenue interchanges; and
• Wednesday, February 23, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, alternating single lane closures will be in place on eastbound U.S. 422 between the U.S. 202 and First Avenue interchanges.
  

Motorists should use caution and be prepared for slow or stopped traffic approaching this area. All activities are weather permitting.

This work is related to construction currently underway by the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission to widen and improve the Turnpike and its bridges between milepost 324 and milepost 326.

I-76 East to Close Monday Night at Belmont Avenue for Message Sign Installation in Montgomery County

King of Prussia, PA - Eastbound Interstate 76 (Schuylkill Expressway) will be closed and detoured at the Belmont Avenue Interchange (Exit 338) in Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County on Monday, February 21, from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, for installation of an electronic message sign under a project to rehabilitate the Wayne Junction Viaduct over SEPTA tracks and the Nicetown neighborhood in North Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

Approaching the work area, eastbound traffic will be reduced to one lane, then exit at the Belmont Avenue off-ramp and re-enter the expressway at the adjacent on-ramp back to eastbound I-76. The Pennsylvania State Police will control traffic through the intersection at the base of the ramps.

In addition, lane closures and traffic slowdowns may occur on U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) in both directions next week for construction on the viaduct.

The U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) periodic lane restrictions may occur: 

• Southbound, Mondays through Fridays, from 6:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning; and
• Northbound, Mondays through Fridays, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur.  All scheduled activities are weather dependent. 

PennDOT's contractor is wrapping up rehabilitation and redecking of the southbound outer lane and shoulder of the mile-long viaduct. Construction is expected to shift to the northbound side of the structure in late February.

The project, which is expected to be completed in spring 2024, also includes installation of electronic message signs and other Intelligent Transportation System components on I-76 and other regional arteries.

South State, Inc. of Bridgeton, N.J. is the general contractor on the $91.8 million project, which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state funds.

I-95, I-476 Lane Closures Next Week for Milling, Guiderail Installation in Delaware County

King of Prussia, PA – Motorists traveling Interstate 95 and southbound Interstate 476 in Delaware County will encounter single and double lane closures and a full ramp closure at night next week for milling and guiderail installation under a project to rehabilitate pavement and repair 15 structures on more than 11 miles of the interstate in Lower Chichester, Upper Chichester, Chester, Ridley and Tinicum townships, the City of Chester and Upland and Ridley Park boroughs, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule and locations are:

• Monday, February 21, through Friday, February 25, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and from 5:00 AM to 6:00 AM, a single lane closure will be in place in sections on northbound and southbound I-95 between the Route 452 (Market Street) and I-476 interchanges;
• Monday, February 21, through Friday, February 25, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a double lane closure will be in place in sections on northbound and southbound I-95 between the Route 452 (Market Street) and I-476 interchanges; and
• Wednesday, February 23, through Friday, February 25, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a single lane closure will be in place on southbound I-476 between the MacDade Boulevard (Exit 1) and I-95 interchanges.
  

In addition, the ramp from Chestnut Street to northbound Interstate 95 in the City of Chester will be closed and detoured on Monday, February 21, through Friday, February 25, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use U.S. 13 (Morton Avenue/Chester Pike) and turn right on Stewart Avenue to access the ramp to northbound I-95.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through or near the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under this project, PennDOT's contractor will mill, overlay and rehabilitate the existing concrete pavement including 41 ramps; perform minor structural repairs to 15 of the 33 bridges located in the project limits; repair sections of median barrier; upgrade guide rail; install new pavement markings, delineators and rumble strips; repair and clean existing inlets and pipes; and replace damaged or missing traffic signs. The Pennsylvania Welcome Center just north of the Delaware state line also will be improved with concrete base repairs and new parking stripes, pavement markings and signs.

Allan A. Myers, Inc. of Worcester, Montgomery County is the general contractor on the $68.4 million project, which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state funds. The entire project is expected to be completed in late 2023.

PennDOT Establishes New Business U.S. 13, Redesignates U.S. 13 over Route 291 to Improve Truck Travel in the City of Chester

King of Prussia, PA – In an effort to improve truck travel and alleviate congestion, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that it has completed sign installations for the establishment of a new Business U.S. 13 and the redesignation of U.S. 13 using Route 291 through the City of Chester, Delaware County.

The new Business U.S. 13 follows 9^th Street from Morton Avenue to Highland Avenue to 4^th Street where it joins with U.S. 13 at Price Street. The newly designated U.S. 13 continues on Morton Avenue to Route 291 (4th Street) to Price Street.

The new designations are intended to reduce the number of trucks, particularly through trucks and trucks delivering to the industrial waterfront, which currently travel through the residential and commercial areas on 9^th Street, which is a two-lane highway and encourage truck drivers to follow the new primary truck network using U.S. 13/Route 291, which is a four-lane highway with a center turn lane.

Additionally, the relocation of U.S. 13 increases the vertical clearance along the route following the completion of a PennDOT project to rehabilitate seven bridges in the city and increase the vertical clearance on Morton Avenue to accommodate heavy trucks. There is currently a 12' 9" clearance on Highland Avenue (new Business U.S. 13), and 13' 11" clearance on Morton Avenue (new U.S. 13).

Northbound trucks traveling into the city on U.S. 13 would turn right onto Price Street, follow Route 291, and turn left onto Morton Street to rejoin U.S. 13. Southbound trucks traveling into the city on U.S. 13 (Chester Pike) would continue along Morton Avenue rather than turning right onto 9th Street, then turn right onto Route 291 to Price Street. Trucks entering the city at other points, such as Interstate 95 Exits 3 and 6, could also be directed toward Business U.S. 13 rather than the main route, minimizing through traffic on Business U.S. 13 (9th Street).

The establishment of a new Business U.S. 13 and redesignation of U.S. 13 follows the recommendations from an April 2018 Truck Wayfinding Study conducted by the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission.

PECO to Close Waterloo Avenue for Utility Improvement in Easttown Township

King of Prussia, PA – PECO Energy plans to close Waterloo Avenue between First Avenue and Sugartown Road in Easttown Township, Chester County, beginning Friday, February 18, for utility construction, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today. The closure will be in place Mondays through Fridays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM through Tuesday, March 22.

During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Sugartown Road, Waterloo Road and U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue). Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone. 

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

PECO Energy will complete this project under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.

PennDOT to Repair Potholes Next Week on More Than 55 State Highways in the Philadelphia Region

King of Prussia, PA – PennDOT maintenance and contractor crews will be working on more than 55 state highways next week to repair deteriorated pavement across the Philadelphia region. The roadways include:

Bucks County

• U.S. 202, Buckingham and Solebury townships and Doylestown Borough;
• Route 132 (Street Road), Upper Southampton, Lower Southampton, Bensalem and Warminster townships;
• Route 152, Sellersville and Perkasie boroughs and West Rockhill and Hilltown townships;
• Route 213 (Bridgetown Pike), Lower Southampton and Middletown townships;
• Route 263 (York Road), Warminster, Warwick, and Buckingham townships and Doylestown Borough;
• Route 309, West Rockhill and Richland townships and Quakertown Borough;
• Route 313 (Dublin Pike), Richland, East Rockhill and Bedminster townships;
• Route 611 ramps, Doylestown Borough;

• Rhawn Street;
• Wissahickon Avenue;
• Cottman Avenue;
• Bustleton Avenue;
• Castor Avenue;

• Allegheny Avenue.

Crews will restrict travel lanes on these state highways to patch areas of deteriorating pavement. Motorists are advised to be alert of this moving operation and to expect intermittent lane closures and possible slowdowns when driving near work crews. All activities are weather dependent.

As of January 1, 2022, PennDOT has used more than 383 tons of asphalt to repair potholes across the five-county Philadelphia region.

PennDOT would also like to remind motorists that potholes and other roadway concerns on state roads can be reported by calling 1-800-FIX-ROAD or visiting www.penndot.gov and clicking on "Submit A Roadway Concern." To date, District 6 has received over 1,200 customer concerns regarding potholes through PennDOT's Customer Care Center.

U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) Lane Closure, Periodic Stoppages at Night Next Week for Viaduct Rehabilitation in Philadelphia

King of Prussia, PA – Single lane closures and periodic brief stoppages will be in place on northbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) on Monday, February 14, from 9:00 PM and 5:00 AM the following morning for construction on the Wayne Junction Viaduct over SEPTA tracks and the Nicetown neighborhood in North Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

In addition, periodic lane closures also may be in place in the work area during the remainder of the week on:

• Southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway), Monday through Friday from 6:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning; and
• Northbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway), Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Current work to rehabilitate and re-deck the southbound outer lane and shoulder of the mile-long viaduct and repair the Fox Street overpass will continue until late February before construction shifts to the northbound side of the structure. The entire project is expected to be completed in spring 2024.

South State, Inc. of Bridgeton, N.J. is the general contractor on the $90.7 million project, which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state funds.

King of Prussia, PA – Route 152 (Limekiln Pike) motorists will encounter a lane closure between Willow Grove Avenue and Mt. Carmel Avenue in Cheltenham and Abington townships, Montgomery County, on Monday, February 14, through Thursday, February 17, from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, for minor construction activities, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today. 

 

Major construction to replace the poor condition structure that previously carried Route 152 (Limekiln Pike) over SEPTA tracks started in May 2020 and was completed in October 2021. 

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The lane closures will remain in place through late September.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the construction area because backups and slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

This county-owned project consists of improving mobility for the traveling public along the Chester Valley Trail.

I-95 South Lane Closures Scheduled Next Week for Guiderail Installation in Delaware County

King of Prussia, PA – Southbound Interstate 95 motorists will encounter single and double lane closures in both directions next week at several locations between the Route 452 (Market Street) and Route 352/320 (Edgmont Avenue) interchanges for guiderail installation under a project to rehabilitate pavement and repair 15 structures on more than 11 miles of the interstate in Lower Chichester, Upper Chichester, Chester, Ridley and Tinicum townships, the City of Chester and Upland and Ridley Park boroughs, Delaware County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

• Monday, February 14, through Thursday, February 17, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and from 5:00 AM to 6:00 AM, a single lane closure will be in place on southbound I-95; and
• Monday, February 14, through Thursday, February 17, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a double lane closure will be in place on southbound I-95.
  

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through or near the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under this project, PennDOT's contractor will mill, overlay and rehabilitate the existing concrete pavement including 41 ramps; perform minor structural repairs to 15 of the 33 bridges located in the project limits; repair sections of median barrier; upgrade guide rail; install new pavement markings, delineators and rumble strips; repair and clean existing inlets and pipes; and replace damaged or missing traffic signs. The Pennsylvania Welcome Center just north of the Delaware state line also will be improved with concrete base repairs and new parking stripes, pavement markings and signs.

Allan A. Myers, Inc. of Worcester, Montgomery County is the general contractor on the $72 million project, which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state funds. The entire project is expected to be completed in late 2023.

I-95 North Lane, Ramp Restrictions Next Week for Construction at Bridge Street and Betsy Ross Interchanges in Philadelphia

King of Prussia, PA - Northbound Interstate 95 will be reduced from three lanes-to-one in the work zone between the Bridge Street and Cottman Avenue interchanges in Philadelphia on Monday, February 14, through Friday, February 18, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning for construction to install an overhead sign structure, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work is part of a $79.7 million project to reconstruct I-95 at the northern end of the Bridge Street Interchange. PennDOT's contractor completed reconstruction and widening of the northbound lanes and two northbound bridges and shifted construction operations to the southbound side of I-95 in early January.

In addition, intermittent slowdowns are scheduled on the ramp from northbound I-95 to the Betsy Ross Bridge on Thursday, February 17, and Friday, February 18, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for bridge beam installation.

The work is part of PennDOT's $93.6 million contract to replace four ramp structures at the Betsy Ross Bridge Interchange.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time for travel through the work areas as backups and delays are expected. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

King of Prussia, PA – Eastbound and westbound U.S. 422 motorists will encounter a single lane closure between the Armand Hammer Boulevard and Sanatoga interchanges on Monday, February 14, through Friday, February 18, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, for roadway reconstruction under a project to replace the structures that carry Park Road and Pleasantview Road over the expressway in Lower Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

U.S. 422 motorists are advised to use an allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The replacement of the Pleasantview Road and Park Road bridges over U.S. 422 is an advance contract prior to starting the project to reconstruct U.S. 422 between the Sanatoga Interchange and Porter Road.

H&K Group, Inc. of Skippack, Montgomery County is the general contractor on the $7.1 million project, which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state funds. The entire project is expected to finish in late 2022.

New Traffic Pattern Begins Next Weekend on Main Street for Roadway Construction in Norristown

King of Prussia, PA – A new traffic pattern will be in place on Main Street in Norristown by early Saturday, February 19, that will move three lanes of traffic to the south (eastbound) side of Main Street between Water Street and Barbadoes Street for reconstruction of the north (westbound) side of the roadway, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The new traffic pattern — eastbound and westbound through lanes and a center turn lane — will remain in place for approximately three months. Parking will be eliminated on Main street within the work area.

The work is part of the Section 510 Markley Street (U.S. 202 South) widening and reconstruction project. In addition to the work on Main Street, construction activities are now underway on the southbound side of Markley Street (U.S. 202 South) between Elm Street and Main Street, and at the Markley Street (U.S. 202 South) intersection with Marshall Street.

Allan Myers, LP, of Worcester, Montgomery County is the general contractor on the project, which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state funds. Construction on the entire project is expected to finish in late 2022.
