King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that resurfacing operations are planned next week on several state highways in Philadelphia and Montgomery counties.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

• Monday, June 9, through Friday, June 13, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on Arch Street between Front Street and 15th Street in Philadelphia, for milling and other construction activities.
• Monday, June 9, through Friday, June 13, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure with flagging will be in place on Cross Road between Route 73 (Skippack Pike) and Route 113 (Harleysville Pike) in Skippack and Upper Salford townships, Montgomery County, for milling and paving.
• Monday, June 9, through Friday, June 13, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure with flagging will be in place on Grosstown Road between High Street and Berks Street in West Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County, for milling, paving, and utility construction.

ReadyMontco - Lower Salford Township Alert

The Township's contractor will be making repairs to three roads next week. The specific roads, the limits, and the road closure dates/times are listed below. Township personnel will be at each closure point to direct traffic and assist motorists with navigating the various closures. All roads will be available to school buses, emergency vehicles, and residents who live on the affected roads during the work. To complete the work as quickly as possible, all closures will go into effect at 7:00 am and should be open again by 3:00 pm each day. There will be no overnight closures. The schedule below is subject to change depending on weather conditions and other factors.


Camp Wawa Road - Tuesday 5/27 & Wednesday 5/28

Work will take place between the bridge and Haldeman Road
Closure points will be at Salfordville Road and at Haldeman Road

Thomas Road to Close April 14 for Four Weeks in Upper Merion Township for Roadway Reconstruction

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advises motorists of the following travel restrictions:

• On Monday, April 14, Thomas Road will be closed for approximately four weeks between Richards Road and Red Coat Lane/Park Ridge Drive.

Motorists will be detoured to Richards Road, Glenhardie Road, and Walker Road.

The contractor will perform a full-depth reconstruction of the section of Thomas Road beneath the Turnpike. The temporary traffic light and construction barriers will be removed, and Thomas Road will reopen to one lane of traffic in each direction.

Flint Hill Road is closed to through traffic between East Church Road and Hertzog Boulevard due to a collapsed sewer main on McCoy's Lane. Local traffic is permitted to the properties on this segment of Flint Hill Road. Motorists are directed to use Feheley Drive and Hertzog Boulevard during the closure.

The collapse does not appear to have been caused by a sinkhole, but PennDOT has been notified.

The repairs are expected to extend into next week. Updates will be provided as the repair project progresses.

Previous Messaging: Verizon is currently experiencing an issue that may cause Verizon customers in the Norristown area to have difficulty calling 9-1-1 from landline phones. If you are in the Norristown area and need to call 9-1-1, please call from a cell phone. Verizon has not defined or provided boundaries for the "Norristown area." They are currently working to resolve the issue.

The problem is also affecting some of Montgomery County Public Safety's non-emergency (10-digit) phone lines. Regardless of your location, if you need to contact our Communications Center and are unable to get through on an administrative line, please call 9-1-1.
