ReadyMontco - Upper Merion Twp Alert

PennDOT announced that resurfacing and pavement repair operations will occur next week in Upper Merion Township.

PennDOT advises motorists of the following travel restrictions:
•   Monday, November 3, through Friday, November 7, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure with flagging will be in place on Brooks Road between South Gulph Road and Croton Road in Upper Merion Township for milling and paving.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather-dependent.

Under these resurfacing and improvement projects, PennDOT's contractors are repairing, milling, and repaving state highways with new asphalt pavement that will seal roadways and provide motorists with a safer and smoother riding surface.

A water main break has occurred along U.S. Route 202 between Henderson Road and Saulin Boulevard, near the ongoing sinkhole remediation project. The road is already closed due to the remediation project but residents and businesses in the surrounding area may experience service disruptions. Aqua America crews are on-site and working to complete repairs as quickly as possible.

The eastbound stretch of Skippack Pike, between Narcissa Road and Butler Pike is now OPEN!  Gas pipeline construction is completed.


**ORIGINAL MESSAGE**
Portion Of Skippack Pike (Route 73) Closing

PennDOT has announced that gas pipeline maintenance will close eastbound Skippack Pike (Route 73) in the Township beginning Thursday, September 18, through October 9.

The road will be closed and detoured 24/7 through the Narcissa Road intersection. Motorists will be directed to use Penllyn Blue Pike, Morris Road, Butler Pike. Trucks wills be directed to use U.S. 202 (Dekalb Pike), Route 63 (Welsh Road), Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike).

Skippack Pike (Route 73) westbound will remain open to traffic. Local access will be maintained at all times.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

**UPDATE ON CSX RAILROAD CLOSURES**
The railroad closure on Skippack Pike (SR73) near North Wales Road is now open. The next, and final closure in Whitpain, will begin Sunday, October 26th. Township Line Road (border with East Norriton Twp) will be closed just east of North Wales Road. Please plan your route to your destination ahead of time. Officers will be watching for motorists cutting through neighborhoods that are speeding and not stopping at stop signs.

CSX Rail Repairs To Result In Road Closures
Representatives from CSX Rail recently informed the Township of the need repair multiple rail crossings in Whitpain and surrounding communities. This work is beyond the Township's control as federal rail guidelines supersede local and state authority.

This work will result in a full closure of the roadways listed below, around the clock, at each rail crossing. CSX will post detour signs in the area.

Local residents will have access to their property but will not be able to cross the closed railroad crossings. The schedule below is subject to change based on weather and CSX construction progress. Monitor the Township's website, X and Wire for updates on the work should scheduling changes occur.

Week of October 5
•Township Line Road: Upper Gwynedd/Whitpain Border – Road closed at railroad crossing between N. Wales Road and Audubon Drive in Upper Gwynedd

**UPDATE ON CSX ROAD CLOSURES**
The Golf View Drive (Blue Bell Country Club) and North Wales Road closures are being finished up this afternoon. They are both scheduled to be reopened sometime tomorrow morning.
The next closure will be Skippack Pike, just west of Tiferet Bet Israel. We understand this will cause a lot of traffic to be detoured. Please pay attention to the detour signs and obey all traffic laws. We suggest leaving earlier than normal to get to your destinations.

The Bean Road and W. Township Line Road (Upper Gwynedd border) CSX railroad closures are currently scheduled to be completed and reopened by early Saturday morning October 11th.
The next road closures will begin this coming Monday, October 13th.  They will be Golf View Drive in the Blue Bell Country Club and North Wales Road between Pulaski Drive and Hallman Drive.  If using a detour through the Greens neighborhood, watch your speed and obey all traffic control devices.

Lane Closure on Skippack Pike Extended
The gas pipeline repairs that have closed eastbound Skippack Pike (Route 73) in the Township will be extended until approximately October 24. The work is extended due to the nature of the repairs that must be completed by the gas pipeline company, Enbridge.

ReadyMontco - Upper Hanover Alert

Lesher's Mill Road Bridge is being closed effective 1:30 PM 10/1/25 . The closure is necessary due to illegal truck traffic across the bridge due to the ROUTE 29 PennDOT Detour. All traffic detoured down Tollgate Road and Palm Hill Road should proceed past Lesher's Mill Road.

The bridge closure is anticipated to be in effect until the completion of PennDOT's Route 29 detour. The Township does not have the staff to open and close the bridge daily. If you have a question or concern, please contact the Township at 215-679-4401.
