U.S. 1 (City Line Avenue) Lane Closure for Local Lighting Improvement Project in Lower Merion Township, Philadelphia

King of Prussia, PA – U.S. 1 (City Line Avenue) motorists will encounter a right lane closure in both directions between Lapsley Lane and 52nd  Street/Maple Avenue in Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County, and Philadelphia, beginning Tuesday, March 9, for construction activities under a local lighting improvement project, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today. The lane closure will be in place weekdays from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, and from Friday, 7:00 PM, through Monday, 5:00 AM, through Monday, March 22.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the construction area because backups and slowdowns may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

This local municipal project consists of installing and updating lighting along the corridor to improve visibility for the traveling public.

Several State Highways to be Restricted Periodically for Local Trail Improvement Project in Radnor Township

King of Prussia, PA – Periodic lane closures are scheduled on several state highways in Radnor Township, Delaware County, beginning Monday, March 1, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for a local trail project, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today. The intermittent lane closures will be in place weekdays through early June.

The work locations are:

• U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) between Radnor Chester Road and King of Prussia Road;
• Radnor Chester Road between Browns Lane and Raider Road;
• Bryn Mawr Avenue between Ithan Avenue and Stone Creek Lane; and
• Conestoga Road between Lenoir Avenue and Wayne Avenue.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the construction areas because backups and slowdowns may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

This local municipal project consists of installing ADA curb ramps, shared-use paths, bike lanes, signage and other miscellaneous construction.

King of Prussia, PA – Northbound U.S.1 (Baltimore Pike) is among several state highways that will be restricted next week, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, in Delaware, Bucks, Chester, and Montgomery counties for tree trimming operations, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

• Monday, March 1, through Thursday, March 4, a lane closure is scheduled on northbound U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) between Thornton Road and Cheyney Road in Concord Township, Delaware County;
• Monday, March 1, through Thursday, March 4, a lane closure is scheduled in both directions on U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) between Harvey Road and Ring Road in Chadds Ford Township, Delaware County;
• Monday, March 1, a lane closure is scheduled on Richlandtown Pike between Keystone Road and California Road in Springfield and Richland townships, Bucks County;
• Monday, March 1, through Wednesday, March 3, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Charlestown Road between Pickering Dam Road and Tree Lane in Charlestown Township, Chester County;
• Monday, March 1, through Friday, March 5, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Morris Road between Lafayette Avenue and Penllyn Bluebell Pike in Whitpain and Whitemarsh townships, Montgomery County;

King of Prussia, PA – Intermittent overnight lane closures are scheduled on several state highways, including Interstate 95, Interstate 476 and U.S. 1 in Delaware and Philadelphia counties, beginning Sunday February 28, for guide rail repair, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today. The periodic lane closures will be in place Sundays through Fridays from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning through late April.

The work locations are:

• I-95 in both directions between the Delaware State line and Bartram Avenue interchange in Chester, Chichester, Lower Chichester, Upper Tinicum and Ridley townships, Ridley Park and Upland boroughs and the City of Chester, Delaware County;
• I-95 in both directions between the Delaware County line and the Bucks County line in Philadelphia;
• I-476 in both directions between the I-95 interchange and the Montgomery County Line in Ridley, Nether Providence, Marple, Haverford and Radnor townships, Delaware County;
• U.S. 1 in both directions between the Chester County line and the Montgomery County line in Upper Darby, Haverford, Springfield, Marple, Upper Providence, Middletown, Concord and Birmingham townships and Chester Heights Borough, Delaware County;

King of Prussia PA – Lane closures are scheduled next week on Interstate 95, Interstate 295, Interstate 476 and several other state highways in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties for bridge and sign inspections, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedules and locations are:

Bucks County

• Thursday, March 4, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, alternating lane closures are scheduled on southbound I-95 and westbound I-295 between the Route 413/Bristol and Route 413/Business U.S. 1 interchanges in Bristol and Middletown townships for sign inspection.

Chester County

• Monday, March 1, through Friday, March 4, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, alternating lane closures are scheduled in both directions on U.S. 202 between the U.S. 30 and Route 401 interchanges in East Whiteland Township for sign inspection; and
• Monday, March 1, through Friday, March 4, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, alternating lane closures are scheduled in both directions on U.S. 202 between the U.S. 30 and Route 29 interchanges in East Whiteland Township for sign inspection.

Delaware County

• Wednesday, March 3, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, alternating lane closures are scheduled in both directions on U.S. 1 between the Route 320 (West Sproul Road) and Route 252 (North Providence Road) interchanges in Upper Providence and Marple townships for sign inspection; and

• Wednesday, March 3, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on northbound U.S. 202 (DeKalb Pike) between Route 63 (Welsh Road) and Sumneytown Pike in Lower Gwynedd Township for sign inspection; and
• Wednesday, March 3, from 12: PM to 2:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on northbound I-476 between the Interstate76 and Ridge Pike interchanges in Plymouth Township and West Conshohocken Borough for sign inspections.

Philadelphia

• Monday, March 1, Tuesday, March 2, and Friday, March 5, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on northbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between the I-76 and Fox Street interchanges for bridge inspection;
• Wednesday, March 4, and Thursday, March 5, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, alternating lane closures are scheduled on northbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between the I-76 and Wissahickon Avenue interchanges for bridge inspection;
• Saturday, March 6, from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, a road closure is scheduled on the eastbound I-76 ramp to northbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) for bridge inspection. During the ramp closure, motorists will be directed to use I-76 East, Montgomery Avenue Interchange and I-76 West; and
• Saturday, March 6, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, a left lane closure is scheduled on northbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between the I-76 and Wissahickon Avenue interchanges for bridge inspection.

Edge Hill Road, Bradfield Road to Close for Drainage Improvement Project in Abington Township

​King of Prussia, PA – Edge Hill Road and Bradfield Road are scheduled to close in Abington Township, Montgomery County, on Monday, March 22, through Thursday, April 22, for paving operations, under a project to improve safety and travel on Tyson Avenue, Edge Hill Road, Jenkintown Road and several adjacent township roads, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work locations are:

• Edge Hill Road is scheduled to close between Jenkintown Road and Easton Road; and
• Bradfield Road is scheduled to close between Tyson Avenue and Edge Hill Road.

During the 24-hour closures, Edge Hill Road and Bradfield Road motorists will be directed to use Easton Road and Tyson Avenue. Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur. The schedule is weather dependent.

Work on this project will be in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan, which will include protocols for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the jobsite, special signing, and relevant training.

Under this project, PennDOT is reconstructing Edge Hill Road and Tyson Avenue to improve safety by incorporating curbing, parking lanes, sidewalks, new signing, and signalized intersection improvements. The project also includes upgrades to Jenkintown Road and several adjacent township roads including Ardsley Avenue, Edgecomb Road, Custer Avenue and Bradfield Road. In addition to safety improvements, flooding concerns will be addressed through extensive drainage improvements and green stormwater practices.

After construction, Edge Hill Road will be converted to a one-way road carrying eastbound traffic only from Jenkintown Road to Bradfield Road and will remain a two-way road from Bradfield Road to Route 611 (Easton Road). Tyson Avenue will continue to carry two-way traffic through the project limits.

C. Abbonizio Contractors, Inc., of Sewell, N.J. is the general contractor on the $17,249,876  project which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state funds. Abington Township financed the preliminary engineering and final design phases of the project, which were performed by Pennoni Associates of Philadelphia. Construction on this project is expected to finish this spring.

PennDOT to Begin Project to Improve Travel and Safety on County Line Road in Bucks and Montgomery Counties

​King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) today announced that construction will begin on Monday, March 8, on a project to reconstruct and improve a three-mile section of County Line Road from Kulp Road to Route 611 (Easton Road) in Warrington Township, Bucks County and Horsham Township, Montgomery County.

Improvements to be made under this County Line Road improvement project include widening the highway to provide a uniformed pattern of two 11-foot travel lanes and five-foot shoulders; replacing the bridge that carries County Line Road over the branch of Little Neshaminy Creek; upgrading traffic signals, ADA curb ramps and guide rail; performing drainage improvements; resurfacing County Line Road; and performing additional work items to enhance safety and travel for the motoring public.

On Monday, March 8, through Friday, April 2, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, weekday lane closures are scheduled on County Line Road between Kulp Road and Route 611 (Easton Road), for tree clearing operations.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur. The schedule is weather dependent and subject to change.

Following tree clearing operations, County Line Road motorists can expect periodic weekday lane closures in the project area from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, beginning on Monday, April 5, through November, for utility relocation work in advance of project construction, which is expected to begin next year.

As construction progresses, westbound County Line Road will close between Kulp Road and Fairmount Avenue for approximately one year. In later construction stages, County Line Road will close in both directions between Fairmount Avenue and Park Road for approximately eight months. During these closures, County Line Road motorists will be detoured over Route 611 (Easton Road), Route 132 (Street Road) and Lower State Road.

James D. Morrissey, Inc., of Philadelphia, is the general contractor on the $11,073,443 project, which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state funds. The entire project is expected to finish in 2026.

Work on this project will be in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan, which will include protocols for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the jobsite, special signing, and relevant training.

Business U.S. 30 West (Lincoln Highway) Restricted Weekdays for ITS Improvements Project in Chester County

​King of Prussia, PA – Weekday lane closures are scheduled on Business U.S. 30 West (Lincoln Highway) between Exton Square Parkway and Tabas Lane in West Whiteland Township, Chester County, on Monday, March 1, through Friday, March 12, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for concrete barrier installations, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today. The work is part of a project to install ITS improvements on U.S. 30 (Coatesville-Downingtown Bypass) and a 20-mile stretch of Business U.S. 30 that extends from west of Route 10 (Octorara Trail) in West Sadsbury Township to the U.S. 30 (Coatesville-Downingtown Bypass) Interchange with U.S. 202 in East Whiteland Township, Chester County.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent and subject to change.

Work on this project will be in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan, which will include protocols for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the jobsite, and relevant training.

The purpose of the project is to improve traffic operations in advance of the U.S. 30 reconstruction and improvements project that is expected to begin sometime in the mid-2020s.
ITS improvements to be installed include variable message signs, traffic cameras and travel time readers which will aid the department in monitoring the flow of traffic, mitigating congestion, and handling emergency response during future construction operations. The new ITS devices will be connected into PennDOT's fiber optic communications system and will be managed from the department's Regional Transportation Management Center (RTMC), located in the District 6-0 office in King of Prussia.

The entire project is expected to be completed this fall.

Bruce & Merrilees Electric Company, of New Castle, PA, is the general contractor on the $5,892,298 project which is financed with 100 percent federal funds.

Lane Closures Scheduled on U.S. 30 (West Girard Avenue), I-76 East Off-Ramp Reduced to Single Lane for Bridge Replacement Project

​King of Prussia, PA – Lane closures are scheduled on U.S. 30 (West Girard Avenue) and the eastbound Interstate 76 off-ramp to U.S. 30 (West Girard Avenue) in Philadelphia, Mondays through Saturdays, beginning Monday, March 1, through Saturday, March 27, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for bridge construction as part of a project to replace the bridge that carries four lanes of traffic and the SEPTA Route 15 trolley over CSX railroad tracks between 34th and 38th streets in the Parkside neighborhood of Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

• Lane closures are scheduled on U.S. 30 (West Girard Avenue) between 34th Street and 38th Street; and
• The eastbound I-76 off-ramp to U.S. 30 (West Girard Avenue) will be reduced to a single lane.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur.

Work on this project will be in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan, which will include protocols for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the jobsite, special signing, and relevant training.

The scope of the project includes replacement of the bridge superstructure and rehabilitation of the stone support abutments. In addition, the exit ramp of eastbound Interstate 76 will have a dedicated right turn lane added. The SEPTA trolley tracks will also be replaced across the bridge.

Neshaminy Constructors In., is the general contractor on the $4,141,673 project which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state funds. The entire project is expected to finish in spring 2021.

King of Prussia, PA – PECO Energy is planning single lane closures next week on several state highways in Bucks, Chester and Delaware counties for utility construction, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.  

The work schedule is: 

Bucks County  

• Wednesday, March 3, through Friday, March 5, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 332 (Newtown Richboro Road) between Fir Drive and Holland Road in Northampton Township. 
  

Chester County  

• Monday, March 1, through Friday, March 5, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Route 162 (Embreeville Road) between Harveys Bridge Road and Stargazer Road in Newlin Township; 
• Monday, March 1, through Friday, March 5, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 272 (Christine Road) between Union Square Road and U.S. 1 in West Nottingham Township; 
  
• Monday, March 1, through Friday, March 5, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Route 926 (Street Road) between Northgate Road and Westtown Thornton Road in Thornbury Township; and
• Monday, March 1, through Friday, March 12, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a weekday lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Route 926 (Street Road) at the intersection with Haldane Drive in East Marlborough Township.
  

Delaware County

• Monday, March 1, through Friday, March 5, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Route 252 (Newtown Street Road) between Goshen Road and Charles Ellis Lane in Newtown Township; 
• Monday, March 1, through Friday, April 2, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a weekday lane closure is scheduled on eastbound Route 3 (West Chester Pike) between Darby Road and Township Line Road, and on Darby Road between Township Line Road and Route 3 (West Chester Pike) in Upper Darby and Haverford Townships; and
• Thursday, March 4, from 11:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) in both directions between Darlington Road and Valley Road in Middletown Township. 
  

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

PECO Energy will complete these projects under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.

I-76 East Reduced to One Lane Friday for Median Repair in Center City Philadelphia

King of Prussia, PA – Eastbound Interstate 76 will be reduced to one lane between 30th Street and University Avenue and the eastbound off-ramp to South Street in Philadelphia will be closed on Friday, February 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM for repairs to a median barrier impact attenuator, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

In addition, eastbound and westbound lane and ramp restrictions scheduled this weekend — from 7:00 PM Friday, February 26, to 5:00 AM Monday, March 1 — have been postponed until next weekend due to weather.

Weather permitting, the additional I-76 lane and ramp restrictions and locations for next week are:

• Monday, March 1, and Tuesday, March 2, from 9:00 PM to 3:00 AM the following morning, eastbound I-76 will be reduced to one lane between 30th Street and South Street for surveying activities related to the upcoming rehabilitation of the Market Street Bridge over the Schuylkill River;
• Monday, March 1, through Friday, March 5, westbound I-76 will be reduced to one lane between South Street and Interstate 676 at 8:00 PM, then closed periodically from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning for overhead viaduct repair. The westbound off-ramp to 30th Street also will be closed periodically when westbound I-76 is open;
• From 7:00 PM Thursday, March 4, to 5:00 AM Friday, March 5, eastbound and westbound I-76 will be reduced to one lane between University Avenue and I-676 for pavement profiling related to recent viaduct construction. On and off-ramps at South Street also will be closed;
• From 7:00 PM Friday, March 5, to 5:00 AM Monday, March 8, eastbound and westbound I-76 will be reduced to one lane between University Avenue and I-676 for installation of impact attenuators and median barrier repairs. On and off-ramps at South Street, the westbound off-ramps at 30th Street and I-676, and westbound on- ramps at University Avenue and Vare Avenue also will be closed. Motorists heading for those exits will follow posted detours; and
• Mondays through Thursdays through May 1, from 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM the shoulder of the Belmont Avenue on-ramp to westbound I-76 will be closed for culvert construction.

When westbound I-76 is closed at 30th Street, traffic will exit at 30th Street and follow Schuylkill Avenue to the ramp to I-76 west at Market Street. When the westbound 30th Street off-ramp is closed, westbound I-76 motorists heading to 30th Street will be detoured west on I-76, which will remain open during the ramp closures, to I-676 east, exit at 23rd Street, turn left on 22nd Street, then left on the ramp to I-676 west and take I-76 east to the ramp to 30th Street.

Work on this project will be in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan, which will include protocols for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the jobsite, special signing, and relevant training.

PennDOT is repairing, resurfacing, and replacing the median barrier on the I-76 viaduct under a $40 million contract. More information is available at www.i76viaduct.com.

Repairs to the overhead viaduct are part of PennDOT's $103.6 million project to rehabilitate the Chestnut Street bridge over the Schuylkill River — which is closed until late 2021 — and eight other nearby structures, including those carrying Schuylkill Avenue over I-76 between Walnut Street and Market Street. I-95 Lane Closures at Night This Week, Next Week for Bridge Repair in Philadelphia and Delaware Counties

King of Prussia, PA – Interstate 95 motorists will encounter single lane closures at night this week and next week in Philadelphia and Delaware counties for construction activities under a project to perform high-priority repairs on 13 structures on I-95, Interstate 295 and Interstate 476 in Philadelphia, Bucks and Delaware counties, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule and locations are:

• Thursday, February 25, and Friday, February 26, from 7:30 PM to 6:00 AM following morning, a single lane closure is scheduled on northbound and southbound I-95 between Pattison Avenue and 26th Street in Philadelphia, for line striping; and
• Tuesday, March 2, through Thursday, March 4, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a single lane closure is scheduled on northbound and southbound I-95 between the Naaman's Creek Road and Chichester Avenue interchanges in Lower Chichester and Upper Chichester townships, Delaware County, for median work.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Repairs to the 13 structures include replacing rocker bearings, frozen sliding plate bearings and deck expansion joints; cleaning and painting steel beams; repairing substructure concrete; and reconstructing bearing pedestals.

In addition, the project includes the replacement of 24 high mast light poles along the I-95 corridor in Philadelphia and Delaware counties.

Work on this project will be in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan, which will include protocols for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the jobsite, special signing, and relevant training.

Driscoll Construction Company, Inc. of Philadelphia is the general contractor on the $33.9 million project, which is financed with 100 percent federal funds. Construction is expected to finish in late 2023.

King of Prussia, PA – PECO Energy is planning a northbound lane closure on Route 611 (Old York Road) between Melrose Avenue and Mountain Avenue in Cheltenham Township, Montgomery County, beginning Wednesday, March 3, for utility construction, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today. The lane closure will be in place weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM through late August.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent. 

PECO Energy will complete this project under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.

Due to the severe winter storm affecting our region, a snow emergency has been declared for both Hatfield Township and Hatfield Borough, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania Effective as of 12:15 PM today, February 22, 2021.  It will remain in effect for the duration of the storm.    Please remember these important tips to help members of public works and the police department to keep our roads safe and clear of snow:  Remove your vehicle from the road during a snow emergency. Your vehicle may be towed if it is parked in the street.  Keep non-essential vehicles off the roadways. I-476 Daytime Lane Closures Next Week for Pothole Repair in Delaware County

King of Prussia, PA – Intermittent lane closures are scheduled in both directions on Interstate 476 between the Interstate 76 and Interstate 95 interchanges in Radnor, Haverford, Marple, Springfield, Nether Providence and Ridley townships, Delaware County on Monday, February 22, through Thursday, February 25, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for pothole repair by Delaware County maintenance, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather permitting.

Work on these maintenance operations will be in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan, which will include protocols for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the jobsite, special signage and relevant training.

King of Prussia, PA – Northbound U.S.1 (Baltimore Pike) is among several state highways that will be restricted next week, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, in Delaware, Bucks, Chester, and Montgomery counties for tree trimming operations, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

• Monday, February 22, through Wednesday, February 24, a lane closure is scheduled on northbound U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) between Scott Road and Cheyney Road in Concord Township, Delaware County;
• Monday, February 22, through Wednesday, February 24, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Charlestown Road between Pickering Dam Road and Tree Lane in Charlestown Township, Chester County;
• Monday, February 22, through Thursday, February 25, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Morris Road between Lafayette Avenue and Penllyn Bluebell Pike in Whitpain and Whitemarsh townships, Montgomery County;
• Wednesday, February 24, and Thursday February 25, an intermittent lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Ferry Road/Point Pleasant Pike between Callowhill Road and the Route 32 Interchange in Plumstead and New Britain townships and Doylestown Borough, Bucks County;
• Wednesday, February 24, and Thursday, February 25, an intermittent lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Cold Springs Creamery Road between Route 313 (Swamp Road) and Route 413 (Durham Road) and on Fleecy Dale Road between Route 413 (Durham Road) and River Road in Buckingham and Solebury townships, Bucks County;
• Wednesday, February 24, and Thursday, February 25, an intermittent lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Creek Road/Quarry Road between Kellers Church Road and Dark Hollow Road and on Dark Hollow Road between Quarry Road and Route 32 (River Road) in Bedminster and Tinicum townships, Bucks County;
• Thursday, February 25, and Friday, February 26, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Route 23 (Valley Forge Road) between Valley Park Road and Eastgate Drive in Schuylkill Township, Chester County; and
• Friday, February 26, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Balligomingo Road between Portland Road and the Interstate 476 overpass in West Conshohocken Borough, Montgomery County.

I-76, U.S. 422 Daytime Lane Closures Next Week for Bridge Inspections in Montgomery County

King of Prussia PA – Lane closures are scheduled during the day next week on Interstate 76 and U.S. 422 in Montgomery County for bridge inspections, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedules and locations are:

• Monday, February 22, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on eastbound I-76 between the U.S. 202 and Route 320/Gulph Mills Road interchanges in Upper Merion Township;
• Monday, February 22, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled in both directions on I-76 at the Route 23/Conshohocken Interchange in West Conshohocken Borough;
• Tuesday, February 23, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on westbound I-76 at the Route 23/Conshohocken Interchange in West Conshohocken Borough;
• Tuesday, February 23, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on westbound I-76 between the Route 320/Gulph Mills Road and U.S. 202 interchanges in Upper Merion Township; and
• Thursday, February 25, from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM, a left lane closure is scheduled in both directions on U.S. 422 at the Route 363 (Trooper Road) Interchange in West Norriton Township.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least once every two years. The inspections ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.

Work on these inspections will be in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan, which will include protocols for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the jobsite, special signage and relevant training.

During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Darlington Road and Valley Road. Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone.

The full closure will be in place weekdays from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM through Thursday, July 1.

During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Matlack Street, Chestnut Street and New Street. Local access will be maintained up to the work zone.
