ReadyMontco - Upper Dublin Alert

This is a message from ReadyMontco

Following the snowstorm that moved through our Township last weekend, we would like to remind everyone of the importance of timely snow and ice removal to help keep our community safe and accessible.

Please make sure to clear snow from:
  • Sidewalks, especially those along routes to school bus stops and schools
  • Bus stops, including sidewalks and corners where riders wait
  • Fire hydrants on or near your property, which must remain clear and accessible for emergency responders

Safe sidewalks and access points are critical for pedestrians, school children, seniors, individuals with disabilities, and public transit users.

To support these efforts, the Township's Code Enforcement Department is conducting property maintenance inspections throughout the Township to identify properties that are not compliant with snow removal requirements and to make contact with those property owners.

If you are able, we also encourage residents to help their neighbors. If you notice snow that still needs to be removed — particularly near bus stops or at homes where someone may need assistance — please consider lending a hand to help make sidewalks safe for everyone.

Thank you for doing your part to help protect the safety and well-being of our community.

ReadyMontco - Upper Dublin Alert

This is a message from ReadyMontco

As a reminder, it is illegal to shovel, plow, or blow snow into any public street. Pushing snow from sidewalks, driveways, or parking areas into the roadway creates hazardous conditions for drivers and pedestrians and interferes with snow removal operations.

This activity is prohibited under Ordinance #1062, which states that snow may not be deposited onto a street under any circumstances.

Please also be advised that Township crews are still actively working to improve road conditions. Our Public Works teams have been working tirelessly around the clock to treat and clear roadways as conditions allow, and we appreciate your patience and cooperation as this work continues.

We ask all residents to do their part by keeping snow on their own property and out of the street so crews can safely and effectively continue their operations.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

ReadyMontco - Lansdale Alert/Emergency is now in effect

This is a message from ReadyMontco

The Snow Alert/Emergency is now in effect until further notice. Forecasts will continue to be monitored and any adjustments to the alert will be communicated promptly. This early announcement ensures our crews can prepare for and respond to the upcoming weather event efficiently, while giving residents time to make arrangements for their vehicle(s).

For citizens, a snow alert means that all vehicles parked on those streets where signage indicates no parking during a snow alert/emergency are required, by law, to be moved elsewhere in order to allow snow plowing of the road surface. Snow alert/emergency signage dictates which side of the street residents may not park on when an alert is declared. Residents may park in their driveways (if available), alternate side of their street or another street not marked "No Parking." **Please note that the SEPTA Parking Garage is available to park for FREE Saturday, January 24 - Tuesday, January 27**. It is not the policy of the Borough to direct any resident or citizen where to park (i.e. we do not require residents to park in alleys when a snow alert is declared), we can only instruct where parking is not permitted. These parking restrictions are put into place for the purpose of public safety as well as the efficiency of snow clearing on Borough streets; vehicles in violation are subject to ticketing ($50) and/or towing by the Lansdale Borough Police Department. If you see a vehicle parked on a Snow Alert Route, please call 267-642-9411and leave a message with the location of the vehicle.

We would also like to remind residents and business owners that it is illegal to deposit snow removed from sidewalks or private property onto any Borough street. Ordinance 1172 - Section 302.3.3 prohibits the throwing or blowing of snow into the streets from sidewalk or properties. Violators are subject to fines. To assist emergency personnel, specifically firefighters, please be sure to clear a three (3) foot clearance around all fire hydrants on your property.

The Borough is planning for the snow event with crews out preparing known trouble spots and will remain on call until after the Snow Alert/Emergency is lifted. Throughout the storm, crews will be clearing snow on all Borough roads which can take up to four hours to complete.

Should this storm feature ice which can collect on trees and wires along with windy conditions, Lansdale Electric asks that if you see any downed wires or any other utility related emergencies, please stay away and call 267-642-9411 with the location. Under no circumstance should residents attempt to lift, move or adjust electric wires.

The alert will stay in effect until further notice and will be posted on the website and social media channels when the Snow Alert/Emergency is lifted and residents can resume normal parking.

Residents of Montgomery County who need emergency shelter during a Snow Alert and/or Code Blue can call the Your Way Home Call Center at 610.278.3522. There are two Code Blue Shelters located in Lansdale at Trinity Lutheran Church (1000 W. Main Street) and the Wissahickon Park Building (765 E. Main Street).

The Borough also asks citizens to be neighborly and check on elderly or vulnerable neighbors who may need assistance. Also be sure to keep house numbers visible so that emergency responders can find you in case of emergency. Working together to overcome the obstacles and adversity created by weather situations such as these creates a greater sense of community and kindness. We'll get through this together, just as we always do.

ReadyMontco - Lansdale Snow Alert Saturday, January 24, at 12:00 pm

This is a message from ReadyMontco

A Snow Alert/Emergency will go into effect on Saturday, January 24, at 12:00 pm. We are sharing this information in advance so residents have time to make necessary parking arrangements before the emergency begins.

To assist crews and ensure efficient snow removal, all vehicles in an alert/emergency route must be moved; vehicles not relocated during the Snow Alert/Emergency will be subject to ticketing. For the upcoming storm, SEPTA has agreed to allow residents to park for FREE in the parking garage from Saturday, January 24 – Tuesday, January 27.  For those who live near municipal parks, parking in Borough park lots such as White's Road Park, Fourth Street Park, Stony Creek Park, Memorial Park and Schweiker Park are other available options. Vehicles left on restricted routes prevent plows from safely clearing streets and slow storm cleanup for everyone so please be sure to have your vehicle moved ahead of the storm.
