The Greater Hatboro Chamber of Commerce is hosting the 31st annual Moonlight Memories Car Show on Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 5PM to 10PM along York Road in Hatboro. York Road between County Line Road and Horsham Road will be closed to northbound and southbound traffic from approximately 1230PM until the conclusion of the show on the day of the event. Cross traffic will be permitted at Montgomery Avenue, Moreland Avenue and Lehman Avenue. Additionally, the W. Moreland Avenue Municipal Shoppers Parking Lot will be closed to parking on July 27, 2024. No Parking will be permitted on York Road between Summit Avenue and Horsham Road after 12 noon on July 27, 2024. Motorists are advised to plan for detours and parking restrictions on the day of the event. Please drive carefully and be alert for additional pedestrian traffic. Monday, July 22, through Friday, July 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 252 (Valley Creek Road) between Route 23 (Valley Forge Road) and Yellow Springs Road in Upper Merion Township for stormwater replacement.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. The schedule is weather-dependent.

Please be aware that night work is scheduled this week at the Spring House Intersection (Bethlehem Pk, Sumneytown Pk, Norristown Rd) on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (July 17-19) from 7pm to 5am.

Crews will be on site to complete the roadway milling, paving, and temporary line striping. Regular work will resume during the daytime work hours of 9am-3pm. The scheduled work is weather dependent.

Please avoid the intersection of Bethlehem Pike, Sumneytown Pike and Norristown Road in Spring House. The signal lines were severed during curb excavation. This has caused the signal to flash red and is causing traffic delays and back-ups in the area.  We are working to fix the situation as soon as possible.

PennDOT announced that Flint Hill Road is closed between Church Road and Hertzog Boulevard in Upper Merion Township due to a sinkhole.

During the closure, Flint Hill Road motorists are directed to use Church Road, Feheley Drive, and Hertzog Boulevard.

Flint Hill Road will remain closed until PennDOT engineers can further assess the extent of the damage and develop a plan to repair and safely reopen the highway.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because slowdowns will occur.

In conjunction with the American Red Cross Sound the Alarm National Campaign, the Upper Merion Township Fire and EMS Department will be walking door to door installing free smoke alarms in residents' homes this Saturday, July 13, 2024, between 8:30AM and 12:00PM.

This event includes homes on Susan Drive, Jean Drive, Patricia Drive, West Beidler Road (between Abrams Mill Rd to Jasper Rd), Abrams Road, Petty Lane, Jasper Road, Bernard Drive, Roberts Drive, Edwards Drive, and George Drive.

If you cannot be home this Saturday and would like the Department to install smoke alarms in your home, kindly call our Smoke Alarm Hotline at 484-636-3945 to schedule an appointment. A member will contact you once the call is received to schedule an installation date and time.

PennDOT announced the PA Turnpike Commission has scheduled bridge beam installation on U.S. 422 and N. Gulph Road in Upper Merion Township with the following travel restrictions:

Wednesday, July 17, through Friday, July 19, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a left lane closure with periodic traffic paces is scheduled on eastbound U.S. 422 between 1st Avenue and U.S. 202.

Wednesday, July 17, through Friday, July 19, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a left lane closure is scheduled on westbound U.S. 422 between 1st Avenue and U.S. 202.

Monday, July 22, through Tuesday, July 23, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a left lane closure is scheduled on westbound U.S. 422 between 1st Avenue and U.S. 202.

Monday, July 22, through Tuesday, July 23, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, N. Gulph Road will be restricted with flagging in both directions to a single lane southbound between 1st Avenue and U.S. 202.

Wednesday, July 24, through Friday, July 26, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, periodic traffic paces with flagging are scheduled on N. Gulph Road in both directions between 1st Avenue and U.S. 202.

Motorists should use caution and be prepared for slow or stopped traffic approaching the work areas. The schedule is weather dependent.
