King of Prussia, PA – Motorists will encounter lane restrictions on several state highways across the Philadelphia region for resurfacing operations as a part of several projects to repair and resurface more than 200 miles of state highway in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
The work schedule and locations are:
Bucks County
• Monday, September 30, through Friday, October 4, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a single lane closure is scheduled on Allentown Road between Finland Road and Schukraft Road in West Rockhill Township for high friction surface treatment; and
• Monday, September 30, through Friday, October 4, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a single lane closure is scheduled on Aquetong Road between Old Windy Bush Road and Solebury Mountain Road in Solebury Township for high friction surface treatment.
Chester County
• Monday, September 30, through Friday, October 4, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a single lane closure is scheduled on Sugarsbridge Road between U.S. 322 (Downingtown Pike) and Telegraph Road in West Bradford Township for high friction surface treatment.
Delaware County
• Sunday, September 29, through Friday, October 4, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, a single lane closure is scheduled on Route 320 (Chester Road/Providence Road/Madison Street) between Avondale Road and Route 291 (4th Street) in Nether Providence Township and the City of Chester for milling and paving operations;
• Sunday, September 29, through Friday, October 4, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, a single lane closure is scheduled on Route 320 (Sproul Road) between U.S. 1 (State Road) and Route 3 (West Chester Pike) in Springfield and Marple townships for milling and paving operations;
• Monday, September 30, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, a lane restriction with flagging is scheduled on Saint Davids Road between Route 252 (Newtown Street Road) and Aronwold Lane in Newtown Township for milling and paving operations;
• Monday, September 30, through Friday, October 11, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, a weekday, and possible Saturday, lane restriction with flagging is scheduled on Brooke Road between Darby Paoli Road and Church Road in Radnor Township for milling and paving operations;
• Wednesday, October 2, through Wednesday, October 9, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a weekday, and possible Saturday, lane restriction with flagging is scheduled on U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway) between Sommers Lane and Chichester Avenue in Upper Chichester Township for milling and paving operations; and
• Wednesday, October 2, through Wednesday, October 9, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a weekday, and possible Saturday, lane restriction with flagging is scheduled on Bethel Road between Garnet Mine Road and Smith Bridge Road in Concord Township for milling and paving operations.
Montgomery County
• Sunday, September 29, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Kenas Road between Route 463 (Horsham Road) and County Line Road in Montgomery Township for paving operations;
• Sunday, September 29, through Friday, October 4. From 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Neiffer Road between Ridge Pike and Game Farm Road and on Game Farm Road between Neiffer Road and Pheasant Road in Limerick Township for milling and paving operations;
• Sunday, September 29, through Friday, October 4. From 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Route 332 (Montgomery Avenue) between Route 262 (York Road) and County Line Road in Hatboro Borough for milling and paving operations;
• Sunday, September 29, through Friday, October 4. From 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Limerick Road between Ridge Pike and Township Line Road in Limerick Township for milling and paving operations;
• Sunday, September 29, through Friday, October 4. From 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Route 113 (Broad Street) between Frost Street and County Line Road in Souderton Borough for milling and paving operations; and
• Monday, September 30, through Friday, October 4. From 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, single lane closures are scheduled on Route 63 (Red Lion Road) between Route 232 (Huntingdon Pike) and Pine Road in Lower Moreland Township for high friction treatment.
Philadelphia County
• Monday, September 30, through Friday, October 4, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM, the ramp from Columbus Boulevard to Interstate 95 North at Locust Circle will be closed and detoured for ramp repair. During the closure, Columbus Boulevard motorists will be directed to access the northbound I-95 ramp at Summer Street or Penns Landing; and
• Monday, September 30, through Friday, October 4, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, weekday lane closures are scheduled on Walnut Street between 24th Street and Broad Street for milling and paving operations.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Under these improvement projects, PennDOT is milling the existing roadway surface and repaving the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.
