A convenience store was robbed early Tuesday in Middletown, according to police.
Officers were called to the 7-Eleven at the corner of New Falls Road and Veterans Highway (Route 413) in the Levittown section of the township for a reported robbery around 4 a.m., police said.
The suspect did not display a weapon but stood behind the clerk and ordered him to open the cash register. The clerk was told to go into the back room of the store while the suspect swiped an undisclosed amount of cash, Lt. John Michniewicz told LevittownNow.com.
"This is a robbery," the suspect reportedly told the clerk.
After taking the money, the suspect fled northbound on Veterans Highway while on foot , police said.
A police K-9 searched the area but was not able to locate the robber, Chief of Police Joseph Bartorilla said.
No injuries were reported.
The suspect was described by police as a 150 pound to 180 pound, 5-foot-10 white male with light facial hair and wavy black hair that was long. He wore a black hooded sweatshirt, sunglasses, gloves and blue jeans.
Michniewicz said investigators are reviewing surveillance video from the store.
Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call detectives at 215-750-3845.
