Travel Restrictions Scheduled in Philadelphia and Bucks County for Bridge
Inspections

Travel restrictions are scheduled the next two weeks for a series of bridge
inspections on Interstate 95 in Philadelphia, and U.S. 13 and U.S. 1 in
Bucks
County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) today
announced.
Weather permitting, the bridge inspection schedule is:
• On Tuesday, January 12, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the left lane will be
closed
on Interstate 95 north between Broad Street and Packer Avenue in
Philadelphia;
• On Wednesday, January 13, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the right lane will be
closed on I-95 south between Packer Avenue and Broad Street in
Philadelphia;
• On Friday, January 15, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the left lane will be
closed
on the northbound I-95 Girard Point Bridge between Island Avenue and Broad
Street in Philadelphia;
• On Wednesday, January 20, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, the right lane will
be
closed on U.S. 13 north between Bensalem Boulevard and Haunted Lane in
Bensalem
Township, Bucks County. The southbound right lane will be closed from 12:00
PM
to 3:00 PM; and
• On Thursday, January 21, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, the right lane will be
closed on U.S. 1 (Lincoln Highway) north between the Pennsylvania Turnpike
and
Business U.S. 1 interchanges in Bensalem Township, Bucks County. The
southbound
right lane will be closed from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
Motorists are advised to allow additional time for travel where the
inspections
are taking place. The inspection schedules are dependent on the weather.
The bridge inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect state
bridges
at least once every two years. The inspection ensures the safety and
overall
condition of the structure.
Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles, including
color-coded winter conditions on 2,900 miles, by visiting www.511PA.com.
