Travel Restrictions Scheduled in Philadelphia and Delaware County for
Bridge Inspections

Travel restrictions are scheduled over the next week for a series of bridge
inspections in Philadelphia and Delaware County, the Pennsylvania
Department of
Transportation (PennDOT) today announced.
Weather permitting, the bridge inspection schedule is:
• On Monday, April 4, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, the right lane will be
closed
on the I-95 south ramp to Girard Avenue in Philadelphia;
• On Tuesday, April 5, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, one lane will be closed on
U.S.
1 north at the Oxford Valley Road interchange in Middletown and Falls
townships, Bucks County;
• On Tuesday, April 5, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, the left lane will be
closed
on the Interstate 95 north ramp to Bridge Street in Philadelphia;
• On Tuesday, April 5, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, the left lane will be
closed
on I-95 south between Bridge Street and the Betsy Ross Bridge in
Philadelphia;
• On Wednesday, April 6, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, the left lane will be
closed
on I-95 south between Interstate 76b and Broad Street (Route 611) in
Philadelphia;
• On Wednesday, April 6, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, the right lane will be
closed on I-95 north between I-76 and Columbus Boulevard in Philadelphia;
and
• On Friday, April 8, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the right lane will be
closed on
Route 291 (Penrose Avenue/Platt Bridge) between 26th Street and Bartram
Avenue
in Philadelphia.
Motorists are advised to allow additional time for travel where the
inspections
take place. The inspection schedules are dependent on the weather.
The bridge inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect state
bridges
at least once every two years. The inspections ensure the safety and
overall
condition of the structures.

traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and
access
to more than 770 traffic cameras.
