From Whitemarsh Township Emergency Management:
A strong storm system is expected to impact the region tonight into Friday. Rainfall projections are at 1-3 inches with locally higher amounts of 4 inches possible. 20 to 30 mph winds with gusts up to 45-50 mph possible which may cause tree damage and power outages. The heaviest rain and highest winds are expected this evening into tonight.
The Schuylkill River is expected to go to Minor Flood Stage at 13.1' on Friday 12/25 at 7 PM.
Residents are advised to take necessary precautions and actions now to prepare for flash flooding near the Wissahickon Creek and areas that are prone to flooding.
Please refrain from travel if possible due to possible downed wires, downed trees, and flooded roadways.
Remember turn around, don't drown. Flooded roadways can be deeper than they appear.
