The Montgomery County Office of Public Health (MCOPH) will be spraying for mosquito control within the highlighted area on Thursday, August 28, 2025 due to positive West Nile Virus mosquito collections within this area. The rain date is Thursday, September 4, 2025. The application will begin at approximately 8:00 p.m. and will end at approximately 11:00 p.m.  All spraying will be performed by OPH personnel using an ATV mounted ULV sprayer.  Individuals listed in the Pesticide Hypersensitivity Registry and Registered Apiaries within 500 feet of the spray area will be notified by MCOPH.

Key Details:

  • Residents should remain indoors during the spray and for 15–20 minutes afterward.
  • Close windows and turn off fans that bring in outside air. If your A/C can recirculate indoor air only, it's safe to keep it running.
  • Mosquito control products are considered safe for pets, but you may choose to keep them indoors as a precaution.
  • No special action is needed for gardens, but wash fruits and vegetables before consuming.
  • Pools and yard items are generally unaffected. Covering them is optional.
  • Spraying is conducted using ULV equipment mounted on trucks, ATVs, or handheld devices.
  • The spray is effective up to 300 feet from the source.
  • Sprays may be postponed due to rain, wind (under 1 mph or over 10 mph), or temperatures below 55°F.
