PennDOT to Preform Bridge Cleanings Next Week on Several State Highways in
Philadelphia

Motorists will encounter overnight intermittent travel restrictions on
several
state highways in Philadelphia beginning Wednesday, June 13, through
Wednesday,
June 27, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, for bridge
cleaning,
the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
The roadways include:
• Interstate 95 North and South;
• Interstate 676 East and West;
• On the ramp from eastbound I-676 to I-95 north;
• Route 3 (Chestnut Street);
• Market Street;
• 11th Street;
• 15th Street;
• 16th Street; and
• 34th Street.
Crews will restrict travel lanes on these state highways to pressure wash
and
clean bridges.
Motorists are advised to be alert of this moving operation and to expect
intermittent lane closures and possible slowdowns when driving near work
crews.
All activities are weather dependent.
Under this regional improvement project, PennDOT is cleaning bridges in
Bucks,
Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties. The project is
expected to be completed in June 2019.
Titan Industrial Services, Inc., of Baltimore, Md. is the general
contractor on
the $2,440,000 project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds.
