Travel Restrictions Scheduled Next Week on Several State Highways for
Bridge Inspections in Philadelphia and Delaware Counties

Travel restrictions are scheduled next week on several state highways in
Philadelphia and Delaware counties for bridge inspections, the Pennsylvania
Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
The work schedule is:
• Sunday, June 3, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, a right lane closure is
scheduled on
westbound Interstate 676 between the Interstate 95 and Ben Franklin Parkway
interchanges in Philadelphia;
• Tuesday, June 5, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a left lane closure is
scheduled on
northbound I-95 between the Island Avenue and Broad Street/Pattison Avenue
interchanges in Philadelphia;
• Tuesday, June 5, and Wednesday, June 6, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane
closures are scheduled on westbound Interstate 76 between the Girard Avenue
and
Montgomery Drive/West River Drive interchanges in Philadelphia;
• Tuesday, June 5, and Wednesday, June 6, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, a right
lane closure is scheduled on eastbound I-76 between the Montgomery
Drive/West
River Drive and Spring Garden Street/Haverford Avenue interchanges in
Philadelphia;
• Thursday, June 7, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, a left lane closure is
scheduled
on the ramp from southbound I-95 to Philadelphia International Airport in
Philadelphia;
• Thursday, June 7, from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM, lane closures are scheduled
on
southbound I-95 between the Philadelphia International Airport and the
Essington interchanges in Philadelphia and Tinicum Township, Delaware
County;
and
• Thursday, June 7, from 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM, lane closures are scheduled
on
northbound I-95 between the Philadelphia International Airport and Island
Avenue interchanges in Philadelphia.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work
areas. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least
once
every two years to ensure the safety and overall condition of the
structures.
