The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning for the region. With actual temperatures approaching 100 degrees with high humidity, heat indexes between 107 - 113 degrees are predicted over the weekend.
As a result, and in partnership with St. John's Lutheran Church, the Borough of Hatboro Office of Emergency Management will be opening cooling centers for those without air condition or adequate ventilation on the following schedule:
Saturday, July 20, 2019 from 9AM - 4PM: St. Johns Lutheran Church, 505 N York Road, Hatboro, PA will be open as a cooling center for anyone without adequate air condition or ventilation.
Sunday, July 21, 2019 from 9AM until 4PM: The Hatboro Municipal Building (Borough Hall at Loller Academy), 414 S. York Road, Hatboro will be open as a cooling center for anyone without adequate air conditioning.
With this Excessive Heat Warning we remind everyone of the following :
1. Wear appropriate lightweight, light-colored, loose fitting clothing.
2. Stay cool inside air conditioned environments
3. Schedule outdoor activities carefully, for the coolest portions of the day.
4. Pace yourself
5. Wear sunscreen
6. DO NOT under any circumstances leave children or pets in parked cars!
