Grays Ferry Avenue Lane Closures Wednesday, Thursday Nights for Pavement Marking Installation in Philadelphia
King of Prussia, PA – Periodic eastbound or westbound lane closures will be in place on Grays Ferry Avenue between 34th and 47th streets on Wednesday, June 23, and Thursday, June 24, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning for pavement marking installation in Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Crews will be placing the final pavement markings as part of the $14 million project that got underway in late 2018 to rehabilitate the Grays Ferry Avenue Bridge over the Schuylkill River and complete a number of improvements to Grays Ferry Avenue on both sides of the bridge.
Work on this project will be in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan, which will include protocols for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the jobsite, special signage and relevant training.
Buckley & Company Inc., of Philadelphia is the general contractor on the project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds. The entire project is expected to be completed in late 2021. For more information, visit www.graysferrybridge.com.
