U.S. 1 Nighttime Lane Closures Near Route 472 Next Week for Traffic Counter Installation in East Nottingham Township
King of Prussia, PA – Nighttime lane closures are scheduled next week on northbound or southbound U.S. 1 just south of the Route 472 (Quarryville/Oxford) Interchange in East Nottingham Township, Chester County, for traffic counter installation, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
The work schedule is:
- Monday, March 28, and Tuesday, March 29, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a single lane closure will be in place on southbound U.S. 1; and
- Wednesday, March 30, and Thursday, March 31, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a single lane closure will be in place on northbound U.S. 1.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
The work is part of a PennDOT project to install or repair traffic monitoring sites across the state.
Kuharchik Construction Inc., of Exeter, Pa. is the general contractor on the $760,640 project, which is financed with 100 percent federal funds.
Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com or downloading the 511PA mobile application. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.
