Nighttime travel restrictions are scheduled next week on Interstate 95 in
Delaware County, and U.S. 1 in Bucks County, for bridge deck and expansion
joint repairs, respectively, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation
(PennDOT) said today.
The weather-dependent work schedule is:
• On Sunday, April 10, through Thursday, April 21, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM,
one
lane will be closed on I-95 south between Route 291 (Bartram Avenue) and
Route
420 (Wanamaker Avenue) in Tinicum Township, Delaware County; and
• On Sunday, April 10, through Thursday, April 21, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM,
one
lane will be closed on northbound and southbound U.S 1 between U.S. 13 and
Pennsylvania Avenue in Morrisville Borough, Bucks County.
I-95 and U.S. 1 motorists are advised to allow additional time for travel
during these overnight operations. Crews will work Sunday through Thursday
nights on both highways the next two weeks.
Eastern Highway Specialists, Inc. of Wilmington, Del. is the general
contractor
that will perform the work on both highways. The operations are part of a
$1.4
million contract to repair bridge decks and seal joints to preserve and
maintain structures in the Philadelphia region.
