I-95 North Center Lane Closure Begins Wednesday Morning for Resurfacing in
Bucks County
5/7/2018-KING OF PRUSSIA
Northbound Interstate 95 motorists will encounter a center lane closure
between
Route 132 (Street Road) and the Neshaminy Creek Bridge beginning Wednesday
morning, May 9, for patching operations as part of a project to repair and
resurface 13 miles of I-95 in Bensalem, Bristol, Middletown and Lower
Makefield
townships, Bucks County. The center lane closure will be in place through
late
May.
PennDOT's contractor will install temporary barrier to channel traffic to
the
left and right lanes during the day from 5:00 AM to 7:00 PM. During the
overnight hours, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, crews will take a second lane and
direct traffic to use the right or left lane.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling on I-95 in the
work
area because significant backups and delays will occur. The contractor's
schedule is weather dependent.
Under this improvement project, PennDOT is milling, overlaying and
rehabilitating existing pavement; performing base repairs; installing new
guide
rail; repairing or replacing damaged traffic signs; performing minor bridge
deck repairs; and installing rumble strips and delineators along the I-95
corridor in Bucks County. The entire project is scheduled to be completed
in
the fall.
James J. Anderson Construction Company, Inc. of Philadelphia is the general
contractor on the $29,633,134 project, which is financed with 80 percent
federal and 20 percent state funds.
