I-95 Lane Closures Scheduled Next Week for Bridge Repair and Resurfacing in
Bucks County

Interstate 95 motorists will encounter single and double lane closures next

week in both directions between the Academy Road and Route 332 (Newtown
Yardley) interchanges for bridge deck repair, patching and paving
operations as
part of a project to repair and resurface 13 miles of I-95 in Bensalem,
Bristol, Middletown and Lower Makefield townships, Bucks County.

The work schedule is:

• Monday, May 21, through Thursday, May 24, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, double

lane closures will be in place on northbound I-95 between the Route 132
(Street
Road) and Route 413 (Bristol) interchanges;
• Monday, May 21, through Thursday, May 24, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, a
single
right lane closure will be in place on northbound I-95 between the Route
413
(Bristol) and Route 332 (Newtown Yardley) interchanges; and
• Monday, May 21, through Thursday, May 24, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, double

lane closures will be in place on northbound I-95 from just north of the
Academy Road Interchange to the Route 132 (Street Road) Interchange.

In addition to the overnight lane closures, a center lane closure will
remain
in place through late May on northbound I-95 between Route 132 (Street
Road)
and the Neshaminy Creek Bridge.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling on I-95 in the
work
areas because significant backups and delays will occur. The contractor's
schedule is weather dependent.

Under this improvement project, PennDOT is milling, overlaying and
rehabilitating existing pavement; performing base repairs; installing new
guide
rail; repairing or replacing damaged traffic signs; performing minor bridge

deck repairs; and installing rumble strips and delineators along the I-95
corridor in Bucks County. The entire project is scheduled to be completed
in
the fall.

James J. Anderson Construction Company, Inc. of Philadelphia is the general

contractor on the $29,633,134 project, which is financed with 80 percent
federal and 20 percent state funds.
