PennDOT - District 6 News: U.S. 1, I-676 Lane Closures Next Week for Inspection Operations in Bucks and Philadelphia Counties

U.S. 1, I-676 Lane Closures Next Week for Inspection Operations in Bucks and Philadelphia Counties

King of Prussia, PA – Lane closures are scheduled on U.S. 1 (Lincoln Highway/Roosevelt Boulevard) and Interstate 676 next week in Bucks and Philadelphia counties, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for inspection operations, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

  • Monday, December 16, on eastbound I-676 between 16th Street and 8th Street interchanges, for sign structure inspections;
  • Tuesday, December 17 on northbound U.S. 1 (Lincoln Highway/Roosevelt Boulevard) between Broad Street and Ninth Street/Wingohocking Street interchanges, for retaining wall inspections;
  • Tuesday, December 17, on eastbound I-676 between Interstate 76 and Interstate 95 interchanges, for sign structure inspections;
  • Wednesday, December 18 on southbound U.S. 1 (Lincoln Highway/Roosevelt Boulevard) between Broad Street and 17th Street on-ramp, for retaining wall inspections;
  • Thursday, December 19, in both directions on U.S. 1 (Lincoln Highway) between Rock Hill Drive and Route 413 (Pine Street) in Middletown Township, Bucks County, for bridge inspection; and
  • Thursday, December 19 on southbound U.S. 1 (Lincoln Highway/Roosevelt Boulevard) between Fox Street Interchange and Fox Street on-ramp, for retaining wall inspections.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. The schedule is weather dependent.

The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to ensure the safety and overall condition of their bridges and other structures.
