Lane Restrictions Scheduled in Philadelphia Region for ITS Installation

Lane restrictions are scheduled next week in Philadelphia and Delaware
County
for the installation of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) components,
the
Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) today announced.

The weather-dependent work schedule is:

• On Monday, November 21, and Tuesday, November 22, from 12:00 AM to 5:00
AM,
the right lane will be closed on Interstate 95 south between the Bridge
Street/Harbison Avenue and Allegheny Avenue/Castor Avenue interchanges in
Philadelphia, for dynamic message board installation;
• On Monday, November 21, and Tuesday, November 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00
PM,
lane closures are scheduled on Broad Street (Route 611) between Pattison
Avenue
and 11th Street in Philadelphia, for the installation of travel time
readers
and electrical conduits;
• On Monday, November 21, and Tuesday, November 22, from 12:00 AM to 5:00
AM,
the right lane will be closed on I-95 north between Route 420 (Wanamaker
Avenue) and Route 291 (Gov. Printz Boulevard) in Tinicum Township, Delaware

County, for dynamic message board installation;
• On Monday, November 21, and Tuesday, November 22, from 12:00 AM to 5:00
AM,
the right lane will be closed on I-95 south between Cottman Avenue (Route
73)
and Allegheny Avenue in Philadelphia, for overhead message board
installation;
and
• On Monday, November 21, and Tuesday, November 22, from 12:00 AM to 5:00
AM,
the right lane will be closed on Interstate 76 west between Route 291
(Penrose
Avenue) and Mifflin Street in Philadelphia, for overhead message board
installation.

The work is part of PennDOT's $15,468,896 project to install 25 Dynamic
Message
Boards, three closed circuit TV cameras, six travel time devices and
communication network upgrades, and to integrate the devices to PennDOT's
Regional Traffic Management Center.

Miller Brothers Electrical Contractors of Conshohocken Borough, Montgomery
County, is the general contractor on the project.
