Olney Avenue Lane Restrictions Scheduled Next Week in Philadelphia for
Intersection Safety Improvements

Daytime lane restrictions are scheduled next week on Olney Avenue in
Philadelphia, for intersection safety improvements, the Pennsylvania
Department
of Transportation (PennDOT) said today.
The work schedule is:
• Monday, November 14, through Friday, November 18, from 9:00 AM to 3:00
PM,
lane restrictions are scheduled on Olney Avenue at Front Street;
• Monday, November 14, through Friday, November 18, from 9:00 AM to 3:00
PM,
lane restrictions are scheduled on Olney Avenue at Broad Street (Route
611);
• Monday, November 14, through Friday, November 18, from 9:00 AM to 3:00
PM,
lane restrictions are scheduled on Olney Avenue at Mascher Street; and
• Monday, November 14, through Friday, November 18, from 9:00 AM to 3:00
PM,
lane restrictions are scheduled on Olney Avenue at 5th Street.
During construction, traffic will be controlled by flagging. Drivers are
advised to allow extra time when traveling through these work areas. The
construction schedule is contingent on the weather.
The work is part of a $4.7 million safety improvement corridor project on
1.62
miles of Olney Avenue between Broad Street (Route 611) and Rising Sun
Avenue in
Philadelphia. PennDOT's contractor is installing new traffic signals and
pedestrian countdown timers at 15 intersections and constructing 106 ADA
ramps
at 19 intersections.
The entire project is expected to be completed by November 2017.
Armour and Sons Electric, Inc. of Langhorne, Bucks County, is the general
contractor on the project, which is financed with 100 percent federal
funds.
