Travel Restrictions Scheduled Next Week on Several State Highways for
Maintenance Operations in the Philadelphia Region

Travel restrictions are scheduled next week on several state highways in
Montgomery, Chester, Delaware and Bucks counties for maintenance
operations,
the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
The work schedule is:
• Monday, August 21, through Thursday, August 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM,
lane
closures are scheduled on U.S. 422 between Egypt Road and Route 363
(Trooper
Road) in Upper Providence and Lower Providence townships, Montgomery
County,
for concrete patching;
• Monday, August 21, and Tuesday, August 22, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, lane
restrictions with flagging are scheduled on Strasburg Road between Route 82
(Doe Run Road) and Brandywine Creek Road in East Fallowfield Township,
Chester
County, for base repair;
• Monday, August 21, through Friday, August 25, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM,
intermittent lane closures are scheduled on U.S. 1 (State Road) between
Springfield Road and Rolling Road in Springfield Township, Delaware County,
for
spot milling;
• Monday, August 21, through Friday, August 25, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM,
intermittent lane closures are scheduled on Interstate 476 between County
Line
Road and Interstate 95 in Marple, Springfield, Haverford, Radnor,
Swarthmore
and Ridley townships, Delaware County, for debris removal; and
• Tuesday, August 22, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Red Hill Road is scheduled
to
close between Dark Hollow Road and Hollow Horn Road in Tinicum Township,
Bucks
County, for tree removal and utility work. During construction, Red Hill
Road
motorists will be detoured over Dark Hollow Road, Brick Church Road and
Hollow
Horn Road.
Local access will be maintained up to the construction zones for all
closures.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work
areas
because slowdowns will occur during construction. All scheduled activities
are
weather dependent.
