Route 252 (Providence Road) to Close Saturday for Pipe Repair in Delaware
County

Route 252 (Providence Road) will be closed and detoured between Brookhaven
Road
and Wallingford Avenue in Nether Providence Township, Delaware County,
beginning at 7:00 AM Saturday, April 28, through 7:00 PM Sunday, April 29,
for
pipe repair, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT)
announced
today.

Route 252 (Providence Road) motorists will be directed to use Rose Valley
Road,
Manchester Avenue and Wallingford Avenue. Local access will be maintained
up to
the construction zone.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work
zone
because slowdowns will occur during construction. The contractor's schedule
is
dependent on the weather.

The pipe repair work on Route 252 (Providence Road) is part of a project to

repair and resurface 47 miles of state highway in Delaware County.

Highway Materials, Inc. of Flourtown, Montgomery County, is the general
contractor on the $11,265,975 project, which is financed with 100 percent
state
funds from Act 89, Pennsylvania's Transportation Plan.
