I-95 Among Several State Highways Restricted Next Week for Bridge Inspections in the Philadelphia Region

King of Prussia, PA – Lane closures are scheduled on several state highways in the Philadelphia region next week including Interstate 95 for bridge inspections, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

  • Tuesday, November 27, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on southbound I-95 between the Philadelphia International Airport and Route 420 interchanges in Philadelphia;
  • Tuesday, November 27, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane closures are scheduled on northbound I-95 between the Philadelphia International Airport and Route 291 (Bartram Avenue) interchanges in Philadelphia;
  • Tuesday, November 27, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on River Road between Laurelwood Road and Elm Street in North Coventry Township, Chester County;
  • Monday, November 27, through Tuesday, December 4, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM lane closures are scheduled weekdays on 30th Street between JFK Boulevard and Arch Street in Philadelphia;
  • Monday, November 27, through Tuesday, December 4, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM lane closures are scheduled weekdays on Schuylkill Avenue between JFK Boulevard and Arch Street in Philadelphia; and
  • Wednesday, November 28, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane closures are scheduled on Schuylkill Parkway between U.S. 202 (Dekalb Street) and Route 23 (Valley Forge Road) in Bridgeport Borough, Montgomery County.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least once every two years to ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.
