I-76 West Lane Closure at Night Next Week for Viaduct Rehabilitation in Center City Philadelphia
King of Prussia, PA – Westbound Interstate 76 will be reduced to a single lane between the University Avenue and 30th Street interchanges in Center City Philadelphia on Monday, March 16, through Thursday, March 19, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning for viaduct rehabilitation and paving, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
In addition, a section of the westbound shoulder between University Avenue and 30th Street may be closed periodically on Monday, March 16, through Friday, March 20, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for concrete placement on the underside of the viaduct.
Drivers are advised to use an alternate route or allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because significant backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
The rehabilitation and repaving are being completed under a $39.8 million contract that also includes repairs to the three-span I-76 structure over Route 23 (Conshohocken State Road) in West Conshohocken and other I-76 structures in Montgomery County.
