Grays Ferry Avenue Lane Closure Next Week for Fence Installation in Philadelphia
King of Prussia, PA – Westbound Grays Ferry Avenue will be reduced to one lane between University Avenue and 47th Street in Philadelphia on Monday, March 22, through Wednesday, March 24, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for fence installation under a project to rehabilitate the bridge carrying Grays Ferry Avenue over the Schuylkill River, Amtrak/SEPTA and CSX railway tracks, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Work on this project will be in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan, which will include protocols for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the jobsite, special signage and relevant training.
Buckley & Company Inc., of Philadelphia is the general contractor on the $13.9 million project which is financed with 100 percent state funds. The entire project is expected to be completed
