U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) Among Several State Highways Restricted Next Week for Tree Trimming, Brushing Operations across Philadelphia Region
King of Prussia, PA – U.S.1 (Baltimore Pike) is among several state highways that will be restricted next week, in Delaware, Bucks, Chester, and Montgomery counties for tree trimming and brushing operations, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
The work schedule is:
- Monday, March 15, through Sunday, March 21, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on northbound U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) ) between Valleybrook Road and Wawa Road in Chester Heights Borough, Delaware County for tree pruning;
- Monday, March 15, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Almshouse Road/Lower State Road between Quail Drive and Wells Road in Doylestown Borough, Bucks County for tree pruning;
- Monday, March 15, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on State Park Road between Tohickon Hill Road and Stump Road in Plumstead Township, Bucks County for brushing;
- Monday, March 15, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Stover Park Road between Tory Road and State Park Road in Tinicum and Plumstead townships, Bucks county for brushing;
- Monday, March 15, through Friday, March 19, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled in both directions on Route 100 (Pottstown Pike) between the King Street and Farmington Avenue interchanges in Upper Pottsgrove Township and Pottstown Borough, Montgomery County for tree pruning;
- Monday, March 15, through Friday, March 19, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Morris Road between Lafayette Avenue and Penllyn Bluebell Pike in Whitpain and Whitemarsh townships, Montgomery County for brushing;
- Monday, March 15, through Sunday, March 21, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Route 23 (Ridge Road) between Route 100 (Pottstown Pike) and Ebelhare Road in South Coventry and East Vincent townships, Chester County for tree pruning;
- Monday, March 15, through Sunday, March 21, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Route 252 (Swedesford Road) between Valley Forge Road and Old Cassatt Road in Tredyffrin Township, Chester County for brushing;
- Tuesday, March 16, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on County Line Road between Park Road and Fairmont Avenue in Warrington Township, Bucks County for tree pruning;
- Tuesday, March 16, and Wednesday, March 17, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Route 32 (River Road) between Route 611 (Easton Road) and Narrows Hill Road in Nockamixon Township, Bucks County for brushing;
- Wednesday, March 17, from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Sweetwater Road between Glen Mills Road & Sweetbriar Lane in Thornbury Township, Delaware County for tree pruning; and
- Wednesday, March 17, and Thursday, March 18, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Route 32 (River Road) between Narrows Hill Road and Bridgeton Hill Road in Bridgeton Township, Bucks County for brushing.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent and subject to change.
Work on these tree trimming operations will be in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan, which will include protocols for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the jobsite, special signage and relevant training.

Users can also see plow truck statuses and travel alerts along a specific route using the "Check My Route" tool.
