This is a message from ReadyMontco
Good morning, Whitemarsh Township Residents,
As all of you may be aware there is a quick moving coastal storm slated to affect the Greater Philadelphia Area this afternoon into the early morning hours of Wednesday 1/10/2024. Wind gusts of up to 40 miles per hour could occur. The heaviest rainfall will occur Tuesday night as well as the strongest wind gusts. Rainfall of up to 1-3" and 4" in some areas could occur. Due to giving the rivers time to crest, the flooding risk will remain through 1/11/2024.
The Office of Emergency Management will be monitoring the storm and opening the emergency operations center (EOC) watch desk starting at 1pm today and will staff as long as needed throughout the storm.
As a reminder if you are in flood prone areas, please plan accordingly in the event of flood gate closures and road closures that may occur throughout the course of this storm.
If you come across any flooded roadways or road closures please do not go around the barricades "Turn around Don't Drown", if you go around the barricades you will be putting yourself as well as first responders in harms way.
Everbridge/ReadyMONTCO notifications will be sent out when flood gates are closed/opened and if the EOC is fully activated with phone numbers to call.
