Daytime Lane Restrictions Scheduled on Ridge Avenue and Broad Street (Route
611) for Safety Improvement Project in Philadelphia

Lane restrictions with flagging are scheduled on Ridge Avenue between
Jefferson Street and Girard Avenue, and Broad Street (Route 611) at the
intersection with Melon Street in Philadelphia on Monday, August 14,
through
Friday, August 18, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for construction activities as
part
of a project to improve travel and safety along that corridor, the
Pennsylvania
Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today. The project is
scheduled to be completed in summer 2018.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work
area
because backups and delays will occur. The work schedule is weather
dependent.

Under this improvement project, PennDOT is upgrading 11 signalized
intersections by adding pedestrian countdown signal heads; installing
overhead
signals on mast arm poles and installing LED street lighting; and upgrading
the
fiber interconnect traffic signal system, signal cabinets, controllers,
signing
and pavement markings along a 1.3-mile section of Ridge Avenue.

Armour & Sons Electric, Inc. of Langhorne, Bucks County, is the general
contractor on the $1,698,438 project which is financed with 100 percent
federal
funds.
